I come every few weeks to this amazing little restaurant and Wheatley, the staff is so sweet and friendly. I always get the best server Makena, love to see this sweet girl every so often I definitely recommend visiting.

First time I’d visited Wheatley, Ontario, I came to pick up a scarce inventory item from the local Home Hardware. My wife and I wanted to get some breakfast, but judging by the name and the exterior of Lil Hil’s Coffee Shop, we thought it was a very small specialty coffee house serving pastries.

Instead, we’d mistakenly drove to Leamington to get a meal, which was less than satisfactory. As we drove back home to Chatham, I reflected on a statement made earlier by the female manager at Home Hardware, who said she’d just had a great breakfast a Lil Hil’s Coffee Shop.

Having heard so much about the Sunday Evening musical venues hosted at the nearby Two Creeks Conservation Area this past Summer, my wife and I decided to take a second look at Lil Hil’s Coffee Shop after hiking around the trails in the conservation area. It was Sunday October 06, 2024, the day Tilbury became a Ghost Town without power, quiet abandoned streets with nary a single sole to be seen or heard.

We were blown away when we got inside Lil Hil’s Coffee Shop. The place was a beehive of activity with their entire staff taking full advantage of the large number of people coming in for a meal. We were gobsmacked by the servers, who were young enough to be our grandchildren, tag-teaming together like a well-oiled machine. I’ve attached a couple of photos of the interior taken near closing time for those people like ourselves who might have thought the place would be too small.

We were fortunate to have a very satisfying meal, as the kitchen had nearly run out of food due to the sudden rush of customers from Ghost Town Tilbury, which would later become re-inhabited by the end of the day. My wife had a delicious meal of Pancakes & Mennonite Sausage, while I had a unique satisfying Southwest Breakfast Burrito.

{Gave Four Stars for Atmosphere due to music being louder than desired.}

Food use to be better, New cook? Soup not much better then can. Toast burn't eggs no yolks. They did redo and fixed problems but had to ask.

Nice little spot in Wheatley, the food was good, and the service was great. I got the mushroom swiss burger fries and gravy. It also came with a coleslaw, which was delicious. The fries were way to salty and the gravy was lumpy. I will give it another chance. Menu is simple but the locals seem to love it. If you're in Wheatley and you're looking for something to eat. Give this place a try.

Delicious food that keeps you going. Got the big breakfast and didn't need to eat the rest of the day camping at Wheatley Provincial Park. Definetly check this place out. Delicious food that hits the spot without breaking the bank.

Went to lunch with some friends. Great welcome, super food (I had the omelette with a coffee, hashbrowns, and toast).
Friend had the fries, I stole one and regret nothing.
Delicious all around. Will bring my family for breakfast next time.

Waited over 40 mins and asked about our breakfast. They said they were just getting it on the grill. Not many people in there at all so absolutely no reason to take that long. The cook told us he just got the order 20 mins ago. Tries to blame us for the waiter not putting the order in. The waiter couldn’t even bring us 2 waters at the same time. He had to make 2 trips. We told them to forget about our food. Honestly this has to be the worst breakfast experience I’ve ever had. I can’t think of anything about this place that was close to decent. Coffee was awful as well.

Response to your post. We paid for our coffee. The water though we did drink for free.

Where do I start. The coffee was horrible, very weak and tasted like water. We waited for over an hour to get our breakfast and when it came it was wrong. The server said what do you want me to do throw it away and start again? You're only missing an egg and bacon. That was the first and last time we go here. The cook working the grill
