Never have I been the type of girl who actively leaves reviews, always thought its something people with way too much time time on their hands usually do... BUT! I can’t help myself when it comes to my favorite place. Coming here is always such a cozy treat. The music is good, the atmosphere is warm, and the espresso is delightful. The espresso here is easily the best in the area, in my opinion.
I always find myself hoping my favorite barista is working that day. He is always funny, kind, and such a pleasure to talk to, and the conversations shared always feel just as warm and comforting as the coffee in my cup.
Truly a Whitby staple, bringing in the old warmth and values we had growing up. I hope it stays around for a very, very long time. Always a pleasure.
- Sincerely Evangeline

This is a really cozy cafe with many comfy seating options like a couch and lounge chairs. For the holidays, it’s beautifully decorated with a Christmas tree, ornaments, and reefs hung throughout. There is a whole back section where you can study and catch up on work and reading. I visited early morning on a weekday and it was really quiet. All it’s missing is a fireplace for a true cozy cabin feel!
To my disappointment, the coffee is terrible. My husband and I have tried espresso and their house roast and both are watery and have a very unpleasant sour aftertaste. Nothing like advertised. The baked goods selection is also quite small.
I would return only for the atmosphere. For your daily Java, you’re better off going to one of the coffee chains.

The drinks and food at Brock St Espresso are good, however I do find the $1.50 charge for dairy-free milk frustrating and disappointing. For this reason, I don't come here very often unless getting a tea because spending $9.50 on a coffee-based drink is simply astronomical. If I wanted to go to Toronto for a coffee i would expect to pay that there but certainly not Whitby.
When I nicely asked the barista about this, she gave me a very short and rude answer about the cost.
As someone who is allergic to dairy who does not have the option of regular milk, I hope that the owners can reconsider this cost - especially for those that are vegan as well. There are many small coffee shops that charge 50 cents which is a lot more reasonable than $1.50.

Came in yesterday with a friend to study and instantly fell in love with the atmosphere. It’s cozy, warm, and perfect for settling into a good study session. The barista was super friendly and genuinely funny, and the toffee crunch lattes were surprisingly good, especially after he recommended it to us. Definitely our new go to spot! I never review but just wanted to show my support!!
Ordered two lattes, were told the once the coffee was ready they will call out. That didn't happen, they forgot the order.
After 10 minutes of wait and an inquiry they decided to make that order. The lattes were not of the best quality.
The place is nice and the atmosphere is pleasant.
The service was horrible.

This is the kind of cafe I was looking for today. It had savoury options as well as typical stuff like fancy croissants. I had a spinach empanadas heated in an air fryer perfectly, and an Americano misty.
The place was quiet, tastefully decorated, plenty of seating. The bathroom was clean and had a funky decor.
I enjoyed my time here so much I bought ginger molasses cookies to go.
I live on the other side of town or I would gladly visit more often 🩷. And yes, they accept cash.
The only down side is that there was only one person working, and making the complicated beverages so it was a bit of a wait both times I was at cash

Delicious almond croissant as well as the cookies are very good. Coffee is excellent being decaf or not. The place has self-service so not much of service you have to wait until they call.I would expect the place to be spotless since there is no service but….
I didn’t like it that all the people sitting there were with their laptops and it had a library feeling and it felt out of place to talk with a friend. Maybe they have their usual customers but for us that go there once a week on Saturday wasn’t very good feeling. 4 stars

Coming from another province for a basketball game, I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about Whitby — but this café singlehandedly made my stay feel too short. On my last few days here, I stumbled upon this adorable spot and was surprised there wasn’t a lineup first thing in the morning!
The handsome barista kept me laughing and smilling, and the almond croissant instantly became my new favorite pastry. Delicious drinks, delicious treats, and even more delicious service. 😉
Next time I’m in Ontario, I’m definitely coming back to this gem of a café!

Stopped by Brock Street Espresso with a group of friends, and we had such a great experience! We ordered two lattes and some fresh croissants — everything was delicious. The lattes were perfectly balanced and smooth, and the croissants were warm, flaky, and buttery. The café has a warm, welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff and great vibes. A perfect spot to relax and enjoy good coffee and company. Highly recommend!
