Such a nice spot to grab lunch if you work in the area! Pictured is the chicken Cesar wrap (fresh chicken, bacon, I think homemade Cesar dressing) 8.50 and is a good size for lunch! I also got 1 classic tart and 1 orange tart! We ordered online and there is a 2$ ‘ service fee’ which I wasn’t happy about. It also automatically does an 18% tip. Food was yummy and ready when expected.

Wherever I'm in the area I always go this location to get their portuguese tarts i love them but recently I have found that they are much smaller than they were a few years ago. I wish they would go back to the other size

Portuguese tarts are amazing. Lots to choose from as far as a bakery and directly attached to Portuguese cuisine as well. Portuguese chicken potatoes are very good. Staff are very friendly.

I ordered a small coffee with one sugar and one milk, and the total came to $2.35. That felt expensive compared to larger chains like Tim Hortons (around $1.67) and McDonald's (around $1). I understand independent shops may have higher operating costs, so I was willing to give it a try. However, the coffee was extremely watered down — noticeably weak to the point that it did not taste like proper brewed coffee. Since I don’t normally drink coffee, the lack of strength was especially obvious. I brought it back to the associate and politely asked whether the machine might need to be checked. I even opened the lid to show how diluted it looked. Unfortunately, there was no effort made to verify the issue or offer a replacement. I can’t comment on their bakery items, but based on this experience, I would not recommend this place for coffee.

I never buy anything, but I always like to see the things that it has. The cakes, the cheese, and the hams look good!, I hope someday they sell berlines🥲. It looks like the perfect small shop to go.. If you have money, but still🤷♀️💃✨️

Loved their tarts.
I happend to visit them to pick some tarts and the guy gave a hard time . He didn't see who came in first and then poor girl had to hear him. If he was so busy in the cafe counter he should stick there.. first someone took my order and then she went inside the kitchen and then this lady comes and ask me what I want I order it again and this guy comes and says you should sever first some first. I dont think I will visit again this place

As much as we want to support local businesses, the staff at caldense need to work on their customer service. We have been there a few times and thought it was time to leave a review. You go in, No hello. Always rushing people when it's not even busy. Not even a smile. It's like you're bothering them. Why bother having such a business if you're not willing to greet and serve customers properly. Never again.we'll go the other local bakery instead.

Why is it that the staff at this Whitby location feel entitled to have such an unwelcome attitude towards their customers? Just to be fair I did not write a review on my first visit. This is my third visit here and am now reassured that I will never return. If you dislike having customers why are you staying open? Sometimes customers need to ask questions. Why do you feel you cannot take a moment to answer politely? Very unwelcome attitude!
