I’ve been trying lampraise for years, and Cucini Express has the best I’ve had in the last 5 years — no exaggeration. The flavours are rich, comforting, and truly authentic. Their chili chicken is also the best in town, and the seafood fried rice plus dolphin kothu roti are must-try items. Consistently delicious and easily one of my favourite Sri Lankan fusion spots in Durham. Highly recommended!

Ordered the Dolphin Kothu on Uber because everyone’s been raving about it, but I accidentally received fried rice instead. I called Cucini directly, and the staff immediately sorted it out, they personally delivered the correct order right to my doorstep. Not many restaurants go that extra mile! Both dishes were delicious, and the customer service was exceptional.

The best dolphin kothu in town...I wish I share some pics but unfortunately the temptation to taste the kothu is higher than taking pics....dolphin kothu with extra gravy and extra spicy with their signature chili paste. .too yummy...

This was my first time having Kothu Roti. I loved both versions I tried. I did enjoy the flavor profile on the Chicken Curry Kothu Roti more so. If you've never tried it, it reminds me of a Thanksgiving stuffing dish. Highly recommend comfort food!
The Devil Chicken Fries are fully loaded with toppings. These were so tasty.
I'm not huge on rice dishes but Nasi Goreng is a must for those who love a good rice dish.
The star of the show was definitely the Hot Buttered Cuttlefish. These were tossed in a delicious sauce and were so yummy!
They have an extensive menu with lots of fusion dishes available too.

Today we visited Cucini and while searching, when we saw the place name on the map, we remembered the recommendation from Damiya Vlog page.
So far, this is the best Sri Lankan fried rice in the real Sri Lankan taste – filled with chicken and exactly the same as the original back home. We have tried all the other places, and this one stands out.
Reasonable prices and good, kind people. Just FYI.. dine-in space is very limited.
One note on spice levels – if you prefer it mild, make sure to ask for mild spicy. Their normal spicy really means spicy!
We also tried a pasta for our son and it was good – he liked it too. Thank you !
I ordered the Kochikade Chicken Biryani from Cucini Xpress through Uber Eats, and it was absolutely worth it! The biryani had an authentic taste and rich flavor that really stood out. I also received a complimentary wattalappam, which was delicious and a perfect sweet touch.
Even after 45 minutes of delivery time, the food was still hot and fresh. I really appreciated that it was wrapped in banana leaf, which added to the aroma and authenticity. Overall, a great experience — definitely recommend for anyone craving real Sri Lankan flavors!
Very disappointed with the food we bought, fries came in chunk, seems like people working here doesn’t even want to make sure the food quality , Koththu roty came like paste ( maybe it’s the type of they make but my expectation was authentic koththu rotty ) please make sure you double check before spending .
