Cutest cafe in Whitby! Server was so kind and patient with us and our questions. Got an ube matcha and a regular ube latte with carrot cake and a scone. Lattes were made perfectly and the scone was excellent. Can't wait to be back.

One of my go to cafes in Whitby! I’ve been supporting Maritos since the day they opened, and it continues to be one of my favourite cafés in town. What makes them stand out is the warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the Filipino owners — they’re genuinely some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. Whitby has plenty of cafés, but Maritos is different. They not only serve your classic coffee and delicious scones but every so often they surprise you with Filipino treats, which makes the experience unique and special compared to your typical café. It feels like a little taste of home, culture, and community all in one spot. There’s a lot of new cafes in Durham but Marito’s really stood out to me. The owners are very welcoming and sweet, I came with my daughter and they treated her to a free pastry. I tried the iced matcha latte and I liked it much better than other cafes in the area. Will definitely be back to try their coffee!

Warm and welcoming vibe right when you enter their store. Prices are very reasonable and their snacks taste authentic. My personal favourite is the mini scones because it’s very affordable and you get to taste most of the flavors they have.
Nice to see a refreshing Filipino-owned cafe that has unique renditions of the best Western pastries 💙
