Stopped in to Smash Kitchen & Bar on the way home from a job. I felt like something lighter. My colleague liked the look of the plant burger, while I was considering the chicken Cobb salad. He convinced me to try the burger. What a good choice. It was juicy and tasty. The fries were seasoned and crispy.I had the Pecan Bread Puddin' for dessert. Lovely bread pudding with creme anglaise and ice cream. It was a large serving, so be warned. Worth the $11 price.Service was friendly and accommodating.I would definitely go back if I'm in the Whitby area.5 stars all around.Vegetarian options: Plant burger was great. Nice texture. Juicy. Crisp lettuce and fresh tomato.Parking: Strange parking lot. The spots are not easily accessible from directly in front of the restaurant.

Excellent service and food was great! The only issue was that we were seated in the bar area with a bench seat, the bench seat was about the most uncomfortable seat I’ve ever sat on. You feel like you’re sliding off the whole time. The people seated either side of us were saying the exact same thing. Seats are not deep enough and there also should be a bar on the lower section of the table that you could put or feet on to help from sliding.

The food tasted really good but I found the nashville chicken sandwich a bit greasy. The donuts were really good as well.

Not a good food at all. We chose a dish from kid's menu and they brought it on a very hot serving dish which they should not actually use to serve for kids. It was very obvious that they absolutely doesn't have any idea of kids safety. The Cesar salad with add on chicken was expensive for what we got. The add on chicken was not fresh and burnt also.Overall not happy with our lunch at all.

We went for brunch. Our server Nicole was very helpful, friendly, and professional!! The food was hot, and the servings were very fair for the price. We will go back in the near future.

Great Service, excellent food. Our server was very kind and kept checking in. Burrito bowl was excellent! My egg was too much overdone but still great! Nice atmosphere!

I had an odd experience at Smash Kitchen on Friday evening. The food & drinks were very good but the service was 1 star at best. We made a reservation but our table was not ready when we got there, we waited for a bit and were offered to sit at the bar and wait - no big deal, things happen, understandable. However, we decided we wanted to stay at the bar and give our table up. The issue was with the bartender who was our server. She took our orders and checked in on us once but that was IT. She was pretty uninterested in all of the patrons at the bar rail and spent the majority of our time there talking to coworkers behind the bar. At one point there were 7 FOH staff behind the bar chatting, on a busy Friday evening. I found that very odd that management would condone this. Again, my friend and I didn't care because we had our own conversation and the food and drinks were fine. I wanted another drink but literally could NOT get the bartenders attention. I politely waved at her several times but it was like she was looking right through me as she conversed with other staff members. I gave up on my drink. General rule of thumb is that you should offer another drink when the guest's drink is 1/3 finished. That's hospitality 101 in my opinion. The worst part was waiting for our bills. Even though the bartender was about 10ft away from us it was impossible to get her attention to bring the bills despite our food being long done and our wallets being out. I had to get up and ask her for the bill. If I had to do this and she was extremely busy, I would totally understanding but she was just chatting with other staff members. This was a disappointing experience and I am hoping it was just a one off.
