Went there with my husband for a late night drink and desserts. We decided to order the calamari to have with a our wine. We should have sent it back but we didn't. It was awful. Like we were eating cardboard, fried seasoned cardboard. I think it was close to 9PM, past the dinner rush hour. So, we got the left over calamari that's been sitting under the heat lamp. It was AWFUL. Ordered the bread putting dessert with coffee. It was ok. Not bad but I've had way better. A little dry also. Not enough caramel, bourbon saucevery skimpy. Taste was a 6/10. Personally, I can make it better. Our waitress was nice. No complaints there. But, QA on food coming out was lacking. Dry, hard calamari should not pass the chef or sous chef or quality control to make it to the table.Won't be going back. Better option in Durham Region is the Keg.

We’ve visited this State & Main location on various occasions and every time the food & service is consistently good. Great quality every time and always enjoyable.I like the fact that although they are a chain restaurant their menu and food quality is of a higher standard and not the usual frozen offerings of other establishments.An excellent choice for any occasion.

Cocktails great Food Bland (not worth the cost) Says one thing (waitress and menu) and delivered something else. Vegetables were not prepared properly. Service ok A little loud where the table next to us had to shout! Table allocation was next to a server booth so we felt like being in a fish tank! (Not comfortable, maybe tint that particular window. It was our 1st proper date night in almost 1 year and was not impressed. We will not be visiting again. (That's just our opinion, others may say different!)
Servers were great but when we first got there, we had to walk over food on the floor and when I looked back a little while later it was still there. Tables were not cleared off promptly around us making it less enjoyable seeing dirty tables.

Server was excellent. Food reasonable, nothing special many other local options better for the price. Very very loud and feels crowded, tables close together. Wouldn't likely return.

My wife and I had a great dinner at your restaurant. The food was amazing, as well as the service. I know it was an open set service, I just fine that the seating was to close. It felt like we were dining at the same table together. That was the only drawback but not a deal breaker. We will return.

Our waitress was so friendly, the food was amazing for the Valentine's special. We really enjoyed our late lunch there and the two little Valentine hearts with the bill was such a nice touch. Pastachio Salmon was the best part.

One issue I had was we were seated at a small table for two in a corner on an outside wall after requesting a booth. My wife had to wrap her coat around her to stay warm while there was a couple of booths that sat empty for our whole visit. Other than that our Valentines meal was good.
