Bought Manchurian rice and noodles, chilly chicken and chicken pakora. The rice was very hard and tasteless and hardly any chicken or shrimp inside for the price. The noodle was also tasteless and so black loaded with soya sauce. The chilly chicken was also tasteless. The chicken packora was not so good also.
Overall the food was not good. I would definitely NOT go there again for the price of the food I had to pay for the amount of food ordered.

Had a lovely dine-in experience with my family tonight. We’ve been ordering take-out from this restaurant for a while, but decided to visit in person to see what it was like. Our server was quick, attentive, and efficient, making the whole experience even better. The food was just as delicious as it always is when we order at home — true comfort Asian food at its best.

Recently we were at Tangerine restaurant and we enjoyed our lunch. Yesterday I had my dental work done and I was asked to have something soft. I felt like having the chicken corn soup since it is yummy and healthy. So I went all the way from Bowmanville to Whitby to get it. When I got home and I eagerly I opened the lid and started having it I was very disappointed. The soup was as if it was leftover and had water added to it. There was no taste at all. It was a real disappointment. I felt really unhappy and mad because i desperately wanted something which I was craving for and this was a major disappointment. My sincere advice to you guys is that any food industry who wants to stay in the business has to be consistent in the quality and freshness of the food they make because food is a very important thing which can directly impact one's health. It is a repeated business. If you want to stay really successful please provide good food and good customer service. This message is not a complaint but an important reminder to you for your success.

Sweetie gave us one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had! She was warm, attentive, and handled everything with such care and professionalism. She’s truly a gem — the kind of employee every restaurant owner dreams of. If more staff were like her, any restaurant could reach the highest level of success. Big kudos to the owner for having such a star on the team!

Always a favorite place to go. Food is awesome and so are portions. Staff are friendly. What more can you want. Oh, right, prices are actually reasonable.

Visited Tangerine Restaurant on July 1st around 7:30–8:00 PM with my family, including my two young kids (5 months and almost 3 years old) and my parents. We initially decided to order takeout because dining out with little ones can be chaotic. We informed the waitress while ordering that we wanted the food to-go, and my dad paid—without leaving a tip, under the impression that tipping isn’t expected for takeout.
However, while waiting, my toddler really wanted to sit and eat in the restaurant. Once our food was ready, we changed our minds and decided to dine in after all. The table we were initially sitting at before ordering, we had already touched all the cutlery, drank the water and touched the plates, so we thought it would be okay to stay and eat. We opened our packaging and began to eat at the table. That’s when a male (Asian) waiter approached us and said we weren’t allowed to eat inside since it was takeout, citing packaging waste as the reason. We were caught off guard but ready to leave, but my toddler insisted she was going to be a good girl and sit and eat, so we stayed. He returned and said, “You’re not supposed to eat here, but we’ll allow it this one time.”
I asked if he had young kids—because if he did, maybe he’d understand the challenge of dining out with them. After finishing my meal quickly, I approached the same man at the counter and asked if he was the owner. He said he knows the owner, I asked what his position is at the restaurant and he said he was the manager- although it seemed like he might be lying about his managerial position. I let him know that his customer service was lacking. I explained we were taking the containers with us, so no packaging was being wasted. I also told him that empathy and kindness go a long way, especially toward parents trying their best.
He then brought up that we hadn’t tipped, which shocked me. We hadn’t even left the restaurant yet. I explained that tips are often left in cash at the table, and we very well could’ve still done that. My dad usually does tip—but after this poor interaction, we decided not to. No staff checked on us, refilled drinks, or offered any service after we sat down to eat. So why would a tip be left for such poor service.
The food was okay—not great—but the customer service left a really bad impression. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience genuinely upset us. A little understanding can make a big difference, especially for families with small children. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

THE WORST! I used to order from Tangerine many years ago, they were wonderful. I ordered 70 dollars worth tonight. The 2 rice dishes I ordered were so bad and crunchy in a terrible, stale way. We ordered 2 chicken dishes, and they were loaded with nothing but chicken fat and gristle, and it was gross. We, as a family, COULD NOT enjoy the food, and I called to let them know. I brought all of the food back and they offered to remake it...ahh NO THANKS. Left the food with them and WILL NEVER order from them again. If your order is that bad and they won't do the right thing, I will never go back. Shame on Tangerine...really falling on quality and customer service over the years. I'm so disappointed and upset.

Every time I come into this place the price changes. It keeps going up and up every week. This time I went in and now the dinner for 4 I have always gotten doesn’t come with 4 pops as it always has before. Not only that the price for cash which is always cheaper is up 20%

Just got our takeout order. Quite possibly the worst I’ve had. Gen C chicken was mostly fat. Chop suey was in what looked like a red pasta sauce (it wasn’t). Never had chop suey like that before. All tasted the same, sauce. Beef dish was very fatty as well. Won’t be going back.
