Tried this place on a whim, hoping for good food closer than Ajax. Severely disappointed. I tried to enjoy it, but it was awful. The rice and peas had no flavour; I had to go home and add salt making it passable. The jerk pork was very tough and the fried chicken was bleh.
The price was also kinda high. Not worth it at all. The service was great; pleasant and professional.

I was really looking forward to trying this Jamaican spot, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. We ordered the curry goat and jerk pork, and both dishes tasted very bland. The portions had large chunks that were mostly fat, and because I arrived early for pickup, I noticed the staff weighing the ‘meat’ before packing it.
On top of that, the service was surprisingly rude. I stood at the counter for a while without being acknowledged, and when I politely mentioned I was there for pickup, the staff didn’t say anything. So I waited until they eventually looked up and handed me my order without a word. Even when I said “thank you,” I was ignored.
Overall, between the poor quality of the food and the lack of basic courtesy, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

We usually get the curry chicken roti..very good 👍 only advice I will give is try and make sure if this is what you want..get it at a reasonable time or they won't have any left ..and most of what you'll get has a lot of bones in it ..other than thst great stuff!

The Jerk House in Whitby is the real deal. The jerk pork and jerk chicken were packed with authentic Jamaican flavour, smoky and perfectly seasoned. Clearly, this was done on a grill and not in the oven. The curry goat was next level, tender, rich, and full of depth.
We came in close to closing and worried there wouldn’t be much left, but there was still a great selection, and the quality was just as high as if it were midday. To top it off, we even got a complimentary festival with the jerk meats, which was a perfect touch.
If you’re looking for true Jamaican taste just outside Toronto, this place delivers.

One of the best jerk chickens I’ve tried! The rice and peas were tasty and the coleslaw paired well. Pricing is very reasonable. The only downside was that I didn’t feel as welcomed, since the lady at the counter was wearing AirPods. Overall though, the food really made up for it.

Great customer service! The restaurant is very clean, and I really appreciated that the server sanitized her hands after each customer. The food was good overall, but the fried dumplings had too much baking powder and I was disappointed I couldn’t eat them. A little pricey, but that’s Durham.
I’ve eaten a few different things here, I’ll have to say it’s not great, the drinks are outrageous expensive. The beef patties are very good.

This place is HANDS down the best jerk place I’ve eaten from me and my coworkers eat this everyday it’s affordable and absolutely delicious! The people are amazing and the reason I’m leaving this review is because anywhere I eat jerk I’m very disappointed. It’s juicy tender and just FLAVOURFUL. This is the only place I never regret spending my money on they definitely have me as a long term customer!
