The food was good! I only managed to get a picture of our app, which was the pretzel bites and cheese dip. It was amazing! My boyfriend enjoyed his wings, and I do not remember what I got!
The pretzel bites were the only good part. A lot of the time our server was nowhere to be found. Before we ordered our food I ordered a drink from the bar (delicious also)! About 15-20 mins later, our food came out, but had obviously been forgotten about. This alone is no big deal to me, as I understand it happens…it’s the way it was handled that rubbed both of us the wrong way. It wasn’t our server who brought our food, but I did let her know I ordered a drink and was still waiting on it. She said she would check. About five minutes later our server walked by, put the drink on the table very roughly (almost slamming it down), then walked away. More time went by, she came to check how the food was. We both asked for more waters. We didn’t see her again (nor the water) until it was time to pay. We had to track her down to get the bill about another 20 mins after asking for water. She brought the bill, machine, and a small pitcher to refill our glasses. By then it was too late as we were leaving. No apology, no attempt to be friendly, nothing positive. Just a bad server!
Good service can save bad food, but good food cannot save bad service!

Had a great afternoon date with the wife here. Pleasant service and decent grub. The spinach dip might not live upto its name - but we enjoyed everything none the less. Recommend it 😁

Went for some food, stayed for the live music. Good service given how crazy busy it was that night.

Love this place but they changed the breading on the wings and chicken fingers and the recipe on the fries and most the foods which is why i came here for the most part so thats very dissapointing. Ill come back as soon as they bring the good food back because i can go to wendys for the same thing if not better sadly. Such a shame i heard quite a few people complaining about how the recipe has changed and they arent very happy with it either with the attitude of not coming back, i know they JUST changed the recipe but this isnt the way to go and the managers can ask the staff if they actually want to fix the problem if they care about the experience of people but i dont have high hopes because these owners arent interested in quality and they said so. I dont recommend coming here unless your a drunk because its not really a "young party bar" but its quality has significantly dropped because the owners felt it was "too hard" to upkeep quality food even though all the other owners had 0 problem with it. They are being cheap and lazy under first impressions and i cant see if any other way because it being "too hard" isnt a good excuse for having low quality food and especially after they decreased portion sizes significantly, you cant just lower quality and then lower portion sizes thats giving people a sour impression of these new owners and people are psying attention. They had an unbeatable recipe and the new owners dont seem to realize how many people came here for the food because it was that good atleast the wings and chicken tenders. I heard alot of people arent interested in coming back and my family are certainly some of them. They are excusing the drop of quality no matter what because of ignorance but when in a year later when they realized the reason people came was because of the food they will be saddened. Shame these new owners ruined such a good plsce but im unfortunately one of the people who are not coming back. Im just so shocked after hearing the owners reasoning for the change and its just cheap and lazy. They wont understand until its too late they are driving most of the consistent customers away. They had the best fries and everything but now they have small portion sizes and lower than average food now so i dont expect this place to last with owners who arent interested in the experience of their customers which is a perplexing business decision thst everyone noticed.

My son and I ordered the Park and Ale burger. This was an 8 oz burger with bacon and cheese. The burger was a frozen patty so it wasn’t juicy at all and lacking fresh beef flavour. I also ordered an old fashioned which was far too sweet with a thick syrup - maybe Agave - so it just didn’t feel right and was too sweet. I think beer might be the best bet here. My son had a Long Island Ice Tea which he said was good. The fries with the burger were good. My son got the brownie sundae which he enjoyed. So overall the meal was just ok with the main attraction - the burger - falling short. I suggest you use fresh ground beef for all burgers otherwise they will be mediocre no matter what else is added. Our server was adequate and the prices reasonable.

Had a great lunch with family. The server was pleasant and down to earth, which made the atmosphere welcoming.
Food sèlection is a typical pub menu but with some interesting additions. We had the wings and tried the curry, which was prepared beautifully as the kitchen was open to our request that it be spiced to our tastes (Hot!!..lt was delicious). Will need to go back in the evening soon to check out the vibe.

This is my favourite pub because there are some really good vegan options here like lentil curry, harvest bowl & veggie burger Many other dishes are easy to veganize too. Our very deserving waitress works incredibly hard on card nights.

I had the worst food here, pasta and buffalo wrap with fries, so bland, no taste. The server was not at all interested in serving. She had a hand under her tshirt, gross. When we said the food isn’t good, she just walked away. Never returning. Left 90% of the food uneaten.

When going into the Oak and Ale, I hope you have Tanya as your server! Both of my experiences with her as my server have been great! She made it feel like she was part of the family! Well Done Tanya!

I visited the Oak and Ale for my boyfriend's birthday in the summer. The food was good, especially the Durham dip! Our server, Meaghan, was fantastic. She made sure that my peanut allergy was addressed and took great care of us. This was my first visit and I would definitely come back again. A big thanks to Meaghan for making this a great experience!
