This spot is just down the street from my house and it is my favorite local sushi spot especially for pick orders and party trays. The quality is much better than makimono also in whitby. I usually get the party tray D but my favorite is the Thursday special tray. Great value for the price. Definitely try it out for yourself.

I may have caught them on a bad day, but the glowing reviews were not in line with my experience at Younee.
I ordered the Sashimi / Sushi Party Tray A and really didn’t enjoy it.
The good:
1. Salmon sashimi was reasonably fresh and thick cut. 2. The oshizushi was quite delicious 3. Service was nice, I really liked the employees here.
The bad:
1. Everything was far too rice heavy. I imagine this is to give the illusion of large portion sizes when actual filling is very sparse. 2. The spicy salmon rolls had too much stale tempura. The texture was like week old bakery bread. Not enjoyable. 3. The red tuna and tai were hardly edible. Overly wet and clearly frostbitten. 4. The unagi was way way too saucy.
I’d recommend they put a great deal more care about what they’re shipping out to customers. See picture for what ended up in the bin.

Absolutely the best sushi in the Durham region! This is hands down the best sushi I’ve ever had. The staff is amazing—so polite, friendly, and attentive. They checked in on us frequently to make sure everything was perfect. We’re definitely going to keep coming back for more. Highly recommend!
