We had a fantastic meal at the green door back in September. I had an avocado sandwich special at the time with a side soup, my only comment was too much pepper in the dish but it tasted delicious. My partner had the reuben and he said it was one of the best reubens he’s ever had! The service was incredible!

Hard to believe this actually happened. I walked out and left because of what they did. The worst was them asking/pressuring us to eat something we specifically asked not to have……….
Saturday night reservation for 5 to celebrate 84 year old birthday. They had round tables pushed together right near the door with the pos system so close that the server had to tightly squeeze in behind our people to use it during the time there. The round tables together was a bad idea. The senior at our table was seated in the wedge area where the two tables touched - in the gap in an awkward spot.
We ordered two steaks rare with no pepper on them. They brought them to our table and said they accidentally made them with pepper on them and could we please try scraping the pepper off and trying the steak. If we didn’t like it we could get them to cook another one. The one person did try scraping and it was still bad and the rare requested was medium. I didn’t try it. I felt pressured to accept it in front of friends and customers in a busy place. I said no thanks. One lady there asked if I’d like a salad while I waited for my friends to eat their meals (as compensation when I just cancelled and didn’t reorder). I apologized to my friends and left them and my wife there.
The rest had fish and chips. Two whitefish and one haddock. The pieces were thin and rated at 6-7/10 by them. The one thing everyone disliked was the fries. In other pics they look hand cut. Ours were not. They were awful and basically fast food fries. All in our party said they were cheap low quality. The menu has a very limited selection on its single page format.

I had fish and chips and chose the whitefish over haddock OMG this was so good and fresh. Crisp on the outside right to the last bite, the coleslaw was fresh and crunchy with a tangy dressing the tartar sauce was obviously homemade, nice and lemony. The coffee was delicious, I drink mine black so could appreciate how special it was. Service was friendly and attentive, an all around wonderful part to our outing from Owen Sound on a sunny crisp day. Thank YOU.
Parking: Street parking was packed so used a municipal lot. It was a nice day so walking a few minutes wasn't a problem. Had it been pouring or snowing we may not have dined here which would have been a real shame.

I had white fish platter which was excellent and my wife had haddock. She wanted to trade plates and I said not this time honey. I did let her taste and there was a difference.

Green Door Café in Wiarton is a cozy and charming spot that offers a variety of delicious meals for both kids and adults. During our visit, we tried several items from the menu, and each dish stood out for its quality and flavor.
The kids’ cheeseburger was a hit. It was simple, well-cooked, and came with a generous portion of “skinny” fries. Perfectly sized for little ones, it was clearly made with fresh ingredients and care.
The grilled cheese was another delight, with crispy golden bread and a gooey, melted cheese center that was comforting and satisfying. It’s a classic, but tweaked with apple and candied jalapeño done right.
The turkey avocado sandwich was a fresh and hearty choice. The turkey was tender and juicy, complemented perfectly by ripe avocado slices. It was a light yet filling option that was both refreshing and flavorful.
Lastly, the Reuben was a standout. Packed with corned beef, beet + garlic sauerkraut, and melted provolone cheese, it had the perfect balance of tangy and savory. The marble rye bread was crispy and held everything together beautifully.
Overall, Green Door Café offers a friendly atmosphere and high-quality food that’s great for the whole family. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick bite or a full meal, it’s a must-visit spot in Wiarton.

We showed up on a Thursday evening at 7:40pm and we were a bit nervous they weren’t going to seat us since they closed at 8 but they didn’t even mention they were closing and seated us right away!
We got the falafel bowl and the fish and chips. The fish and chips was outstanding. The tartar sauce is very lemony and dilly and the fries are literally perfect.
The falafel was crispy and the dressing was packed with flavour. I couldn’t finish it so I brought it home and it was even better the next day after the quinoa and kale had a chance to soak in all the dressing.
We tried to come again Saturday evening but they were packed. So packed they couldn’t even offer us take out ?
I highly recommend coming here for a delicious and nutritious meal. Make sure you make a reso on the weekends!
Vegetarian options: Falafel bowl is the only vegan option, and there’s lots of vegetarian options that include dairy

If you find yourself in Wiarton Ontario, there’s only one place to eat - Green Door Cafe ? Exceptional homemade wholesome food, friendly attentive service, and a charming elegant interior. The Fish and Chips were off the hook (tartar sauce the real deal), and get yourself the Whet Willie cocktail if tequila is your jam - it’s their take on a margarita and it SLAPS. Also recommend the Creme Brulee, best one we've had this side of Paris. Great job guys! Compliments to the chef.

Nice local brunch cafe. The place is very cute, food is good with a friendly service. The only problem is the food takes quite a while. Maybe we'll come back when in town again!
