COBS Bread Bakery Union Square

There’s a large assortment of breads , including savoury, puff pastries, scones, and other unique baked products. The store also has unique breads like seed bread, which I've only seen before in South Africa. The best part is everything is baked fresh daily so drop in early, items sell out quickly.

Just love it....all employees were friendly....... only downfall which isn't much was that the White chocolate berry scone is a little dry. But all others are sooo delish.

I don’t have any issues with the service. I enjoy coming to COBBS for their sourdough buns. However, I have purchased cinnamon rolls on three different occasions and each time their rolls were hard like crunchy. It pissed me off. I can’t even lie. I will not be buying them again.!!! I recall mentioning to one of the ladies and she reassure me that they made that day, They were not fresh very hard dry toast like!! Into the store that’s good respond to my review. Know you’re not gonna find my name in your database.!

I called on Thanksgiving day to check if they are open , so after she picks up the phone I asked are you guys open? She answered: no we are just baby sitting the bread!!
I didnt know what to say. I was thinking to myself, is she being sarcastic? Is the question too weird to be asked? Silent moment then she realized and said: yes we are open till 5. I said ok and hung up.
She didnt apologize and I never went back again. Although my family and I love Cobs bread but they lost a customer because of the rude worker there.

I absolutely love coming to Cobs bread. The freshness of everything here is unmatched; you can really taste the quality. What makes the experience even better is the amazing customer service. Aline is always so friendly and welcoming; she greets me with a smile every time, and it truly brightens my day. It’s little things like that which make me want to keep coming back. Great place, great people, and always a positive vibe!

Gave it try.

Croissant - could not taste butter but some kind of oil. Below par, I believe I enjoyed Costco ones better.

Butter tart - same story, nothing special, could not taste butter.

Cinnamon roll - avg.

Overall, price commanded to taste and quality ratio is way off. Had high hopes, disappointed.

I usually enjoy visiting COBS, but today’s visit left me feeling quite uncomfortable. I had purchased some bread and then stepped back in briefly to take a quick photo of the dinner rolls. I wanted to show my friend if the shape would work for her mini burgers.

Unfortunately, the staff member on duty seemed suspicious of me even though I was simply taking a quick photo as a paying customer. The way I was looked at made the situation feel awkward and unwelcoming. She looked unhappy both times I entered. The first time I entered I was looking at the dinner rolls but I knew I wanted to buy a loaf, which I selected very quickly, but I don’t think that’s any reason for her to look at me the way she was. She came from the back. The store was quiet at the time. I explained very quickly what I was doing. It was just really odd!! I didn’t expect such unfriendly and strange behavior from customer service.

What made it more upsetting is that I was wearing traditional clothing today, and I can’t help but wonder if that influenced how I was treated. It’s disheartening to feel judged or unwelcome based on appearance.

I hope this feedback encourages more awareness and kindness. Every customer deserves to feel comfortable and respected.

Happy to remove my review after I get an apology directly from her. I’ve worked in customer service for over 8 years, so I understand that her demeanour was just off and unnecessary.

Cobs is my go to bakery. Lots of options and a nice selection of sweets. The scones and danishes are always great. They’re making mini pizzas for a quick lunch now too.

Friendly staffs and is consistent with the chain image. Pastry is tasty.
