It says it's open but it isn't. Went all the way from Tecumseh because they have no updated on google that they have closed down.

Terrific Middle Eastern cuisine. Fattoush salad is great!

I came here last September on my Windsor trip and writing my reviews just now. I came here and told them I was new to the city. The woman serving me was a Muslim woman and she was extremely kind. She gave me something on the house because I was a guest and was friendly to interact with. I appreciate service like that. As a Muslim I think we need more people like this as it can help more people have a better understanding of Muslims and Islam.

Very disappointed we had reservations for a party of 8 we all placed our orders and my food simply didn’t come out, we asked at least 4 times about why my dinner wasn’t coming out and all 4 times it was like they completely forgot. The rest of my party was literally done eating and I said please don’t even bring my food out we’re leaving and I was told you might as well take it as you’re being charged for it anyways. I was given take out containers before I was even given my food ….the styrofoam containers I was given were smashed and broken I had to ask 3 separate times for a container that wasn’t ripped on top of all this. I didn’t even get an apology for not being able to have dinner…Super disappointing experience and to be honest food was mediocre at best, may have been better if eaten fresh but I wouldn’t know.

Ordered juice and beef shawarma sandwich, juice was freshly made but a little too expensive for my liking. Beef was a little overcooked ( charred) and wasn't flavorful!

Very disappointing! Ordered off their website menu. When we went to pick it up, prices were not what was on menu. Charged us extra, sent food not ordered.Called and was told we could bring the food back. Then offered something next time we ordered. Will not be ordering again… the food was so salty we could not eat it, falafel was so dry, lentils and rice only tasted of salt. Even the fattoush was over salted. Very unfortunate experience.

You can judge a Middle Eastern restaurant from its Hummus. This was phenomenal.The main course (mixed Kabob) was amazing. The service was excellent, even though I arrived late for dinner, they took care of me and I didn’t feel rushed. I was able to enjoy my dinner to the end.Coffee to top it all off was very tasty.Leena was great and friendly.

Very friendly staff! Multiple lunch specials to choose from as well as daily specialty meals prepared by the chef. Not to forget the deserts!I recommend trying El Mayor.

If I was rating only the food, El Mayor would've gotten a solid 4/5. I'm even only mildly annoyed that we were encouraged to order beverages that were $6.99+ each before we had a chance to see the menu and their prices. My issue with this restaurant is the fact that they added extra items to our bill - $33 worth of food we didn't order. We were foolish not to have checked before paying, but it's safe to say that we will never be back.

I was a little disappointed with hummus and pita ..hummus was good but disappointed pita bread was not homemade....? Store bought. I can get this at home. Also the fattoush salad was too much lemon juice...drenched in
