Extremely poor taste. I ordered biryani. Yes, it’s cheaper, but it tastes awful. By “awful,” I mean it tastes like a friend who has never stepped into a kitchen got drunk one day and decided to make biryani.
Bell pepper in biryani was the single most bizarre thing I’ve ever tasted. It felt like the recipe came from someone completely unfamiliar with authentic biryani putting Shimla mirch in it was truly disappointing.
Are your chefs from Nagaland? The biriyani tasted really as exotic as Nagaland

What a horrible service from this place. The girl on the phone first of all didn’t understand anything I said and then she stated if you can’t wait order from somewhere else and she doesn’t have time to talk to the customer. Stay away from this place.

I had ordered two chicken biryanis for takeout and man was that disappointing. The flavour was okay and they gave a lot of rice/biryani. The rice was overcooked in my opinion but not a big deal. As for the chicken? Basically non-existent. We got two tiny pieces that looked like they were pulled from pigeons.
Pretty disappointing and won't be coming back.

I ordered and I've always ate in and have enjoyed it, but although the food was tasty I found so much sauce and where was the meat, very little, ordered butter chicken, sauce was the same as the lamb dish I ordered , ordered the paneer barely any in there, I was so looking forward to it , was very disappointed especially since I forgot to order rice which would of been useful with all the sauce
This is our third visit to the India Palace Restaurant. We really like the food and the prices in this small family business. We have to say that their staff have always been helpful in explaining what’s in a dish and we rely on their recommendations. We’ve noticed the regular flow of customers coming in and out for take out. We haven’t done take out yet but expect too. The staff also gave us a paper copy of their menu. I suppose you could access their web site for the menu too. We’ll be back again as it’s good value and a great experience!

Brought back their restaurant recycle to our establishment FULLLLLLLL of cockroaches. We will now have to bear the cost of pest control instead of them.
Food was good. Atmosphere felt like an open cafe. Decor could be better. Music was way too loud. Waitresses not attentive. Talking behind the counter and not lookobg out for their customers. Ordered medim biryani. Got it hot spicy. We eat at many
Indian restaurants here and in UK and medium was never this hot. Another customer beside us ordered mild and got hot. One was from India and the other was a local. Indian man said it was too hot 🔥 it was a special anniversary date. Left disappointed

Food is good and reasonably priced.I’ve ordered dinner here many times but most often I go in just to get samosas to bring home and eat over a few days but they somehow always disappear no matter how many I get; must be the house hippos!Their naan is so good when it’s fresh and hot and I’ve never had a dish I didn’t like, although they’re the first place to ever actually challenge my partner’s ability to handle the level of spice; when asked for extra hot most places get it hot enough but they actually made a vindaloo hot enough to give him a challenge, which is rare
Vegetarian options: Never had a problem finding healthy and flavourful veg options for my mom; great selection of meat and/or dairy free options that don’t feel like compromises or afterthoughts
Dietary restrictions: Eaten here as, or with, someone who is vegetarian, vegan, lactose intolerant, and gluten free with no issues finding plentiful options and never had any cross-contamination reactions
Parking: Paid street parking on Ottawa, free street parking on residential side streets. Paid lot two blocks east at Moy and free lot at Lanspeary Park across the street
