My wife and I tried it for dinner, the atmosphere is nice. It's not big but comfortable. Food was excellent. Had Bento Boxes, very well prepared. Service was also very good and polite. I would recommend.
Try the Chicken Cashew Nut.
Nope! Used to be good. Just awful now
Great service! Very friendly owners. The food was tasty and reasonably priced.
Great food, great staff. I come here whenever I can. Don't miss out on the lunch special.
Marukin Restaurant is, without a doubt, my go-to spot in the city. This Japanese and Thai restaurant has quickly become my favorite, and for good reason. The owner does all the cooking, which ensures a consistently high level of quality and freshness in every dish. You can really taste the difference—each plate feels carefully crafted, and the ingredients are always vibrant and flavorful. The prices are also very reasonable, making it easy to indulge in excellent Japanese and Thai cuisine without breaking the bank.
Living close by, it’s tough to resist stopping in frequently, and I find myself returning more often than I can count. Over the years, I've brought countless friends here, and they all end up loving it just as much as I do. Marukin has a certain hidden gem quality, making it feel like a special discovery in Windsor. The owner is genuinely kind and clearly passionate about his work, which adds a personal touch that makes each visit memorable.
I’ve tried nearly everything on the menu—from the fresh sushi and sashimi to the flavorful Thai curries—and I’ve yet to be disappointed. The seafood is fresh, the spices in the curries are perfectly balanced, and the portions are just right. You simply can’t go wrong at Marukin. If you're in Windsor and craving Japanese or Thai, do yourself a favor and visit this wonderful spot.

Had the sashimi platter as an appetizer, it tasted very fresh, salmon and tuna all were very good. And then for my main I had a steak and prawn hibachi style dinner, which was amazing. It's all at a very good price, would recommend. Lovely service and very friendly vibe.

Can't make Tom Yum non spicy when they said they can make it. Never had non-vegetarian Futomaki. This is more of a Thai restaurant rather than a Japanese restaurant.

We tried this restaurant for the first time tonight (Valentine's Day)! We loved it. The food is first rate! You've never had teriyaki until you've had it here! (I always thought it was that super-sweet bottled stuff!) Everything was very fresh and perfectly cooked by the very talented (and very busy) owner. He kept his eye on every table, making sure that each course came out on time.I had the hibachi filet mignon (with a generous serving of awesome vegetables). It was served with soup, salad and rice. My friend had the teriyaki rib eye - which was awesome! Very delicate. The server was super sweet and the restaurant atmosphere is very zen on a shoestring. The prices were very reasonable in today's marketplace. We will definitely come back!
