It's a cute small family diner. So the best thing about this place us the staff. Everyone was nice and polite and very attentive. The atmosphere is giving cute family diner, which I love not commercial...very home. The food was great value, large serving and I enjoyed it. Not a fan of their home fries but my friend loved it

I absolutely love this place, the staff and the people who own it. Great breakfast and baked goods for a very reasonable price, run by genuinely good people who are giving back to the community and treating those in need like actual human beings. An example to the rest of the restaurant industry!!

Really good food served quickly and friendly. They have a feed Windsor program that lets you help deliver a meal to someone in need which I really felt was a great idea. The menu is diverse and it would be difficult to get board of the menu.

(This review is being left on behalf of my mother, who doesn’t know how to make a google review lol)“Visited "Roast and Toast" on Ottawa Street for the first time this morning. It's just a little place that I have driven passed on several occasions without even noticing before. The food was great, the service was friendly and polite. The greatest impression I was left with was how decently the needy who stopped by to pick up a "suspended meal" were treated. Thank you "Roast and Toast" for having such a program and demonstrating real humanity for the rest of us who sometimes need a reminder.”

I can no longer recommend this restaurant. The service was great and the food was too. Unfortunately, while thoughtful and kind of the owners, my biggest gripe and downside of this restaurant is offering free food to the homeless. While sitting there eating, 3 different individuals with open sores from rampant drug use had entered the establishment. And whilst I understand the need to help others. This is not the way. Please consider donating your food to a local food bank or shelter instead, or ask the patrons if they’d like to on their behalf. The unintended consequences of feeding the “homeless” have wreaked havoc throughout our neighbourhood. The alleyways have become a cesspool of filth. Car break ins, vandalism and theft are at an all time high, and open drug use is seen regularly at places like the Ottawa Market and Shoppers Drug Mart.

This is an amazing restaurant that I frequent often. The kitchen puts out great food and the restaurant is a force for good in the community. The atmosphere is great and it pulls off small town diner quite well.Their staff is typically quite good, especially during the week. Today was a different story. Our waiter came only after someone else took our drink order, and seemed far more preoccupied with doing busy work than actually waiting on our table. He did not bring our food. He did not do a check back. He did not bring the bill. He was utterly unconcerned with providing competent service of any kind. The only two people who seemed to take any meaningful notice of our table were young Indian man they had bussing tables and the kind lady from the kitchen. The kitchen did their job. It's a damn shame that front of house didn't seem at all worried about doing theirs.
