Best food ever and amazing service!!!!

When we looked up the best Dim Sum place in Michigan - it was recommended that if we can go across the river to Windsor, Canada- then we should try out Shanghai Bistro and boy- that was a very good recommendation. As you first walk in, you are greeted by a person making dumplings- and the smell that is filling the restaurant- delicious. The place was pretty crowded when we got there for towards end of a Saturday lunch- but got seated right away. Got several dishes to share and my friends and I left plenty full. I snuck a glance to the other tables and the food they ordered looked scrumptious- so definitely want to come back and check it out.

Love the dim sum! So many options. Definitely worth the trip over from Detroit.

Not quite sure what all the hype is about. Service was good and attentive, but the food quality fell short of expectations. The pan-fried noodles (Cantonese chow mein) were made with a brown sauce instead of the traditional white garlic sauce and were overly salty. The noodles themselves didn’t seem like egg noodles, which really changed the dish.

The stir-fried intestine was unfortunately overcooked to the point of being tough, and the dim sum was below average—particularly the har gow, where the wrapper was falling apart. Overall, decent service, but the food didn’t live up to what I was hoping for.

Parking situation? Horribly difficult to find

BY FAR, the best dumplings in town. Took my friend here for the first time and now she can't get enough of the won ton soup. I'll always come back here. The food is amazing, service is fast and the price is well worth the quality.

The calamari was kind of dry but the batter it came in was delicious. The beef in black bean sauce was delicious as well. The string beans came in a contraption that looked like an hourglass and had hot boiling sauce on the bottom of it, presumably to cook the string beans in.

If you haven't been there already, you MUST check out Shanghai Bistro on Wyandotte Street West, near Partington. This restaurant has now claimed top spot as my favourite Asian/ Chinese eatery.

Friends from Ann Arbor - Pat Slaven, Dennis Vandecandelaere, and Brian - joined me for one incredible meal. We had dim sum featuring wonton dumplings with assorted fillings the likes of which you won't find in Windsor or Detroit.

I am glad I had the foresight to make reservations for this Sunday night at 5:30 because when we arrived the place was packed, not a free table available.

Service was timely, and efficient and the food I would rate a 15 out of 10! You got to check it out! It's everything and more that my friends had told me about the place...

I would have liked to given a better star but the service was horrible and food wasn’t all the good. They forgot a couple dishes and pretty much told us we didn’t order them.

We had a very disappointing experience on Christmas Day. Ordered online for pickup at 4:30, got there and waited 50 minutes. We asked multiple times if our order would be ready soon and kept getting told it was coming (they were very busy, so understandably things were chaotic). We finally asked very firmly if it would be ready in the next few minutes, they checked the online orders and they hadn't even started it yet. We stood there for an hour and they hadn't even looked at our order. Shanghai Bistro was one of our favourite restaurants until this. Beyond disappointing, especially on Christmas.

Waited an hour on Christmas day for a pickup order. Was supposed to be pickup for 4:30. We asked a half dozen times about the status and got no clear answers. Finally at around 5:20 we went back and had them pull it up because we saw people with 5pm pick up times get their food only to find they hadn't started our order at. Thanks for a wonderful Christmas experience we won't be back nor will we ever order from you again.
