Friendly staff. Great bakery. That was a few years ago. Lately the donuts have had hardly any filling in them. This has been going on for quite a few months. Things have changed and unfortunately not for the better. I really like Stiemar's, but the quality of their donuts is no longer worth the price they are charging

Our go to for fresh bread, the pastries are great too, you can order a customized birthday or other occasion cake with a printed picture on it. Always been a big hit with our family.

Huge varieties of selection, the decoration brought me the old school atmosphere, loved it. Except there were quite a few flies, felt a little disturbing.
If you are the people who love sweet pastries, this place is definitely your first choice, I didn’t rate the food too high was due to me not being a huge fan of sweetness stuff.
I didn’t have a chance to get one of their birthday cakes, but the glazing looked incredible. You should give it a shot if you’re into pastries.

Classic and extra bakery known in the city well. Highly suggest the bread rolls, I generally go for a dozen donuts for me and some friends and get some amazing cookies for my self, highly suggest for any early birds as normally open early.

Sourdough bread was okay. The donuts can be bought for very cheap if they are from the previous day I think it was $2/dozen which is a crazy value. But the donuts were too big and too sweet.

Been coming here for years.
Always got sweets for friends and family.

Today, I asked for a half dozen, 3 fritters and 3 donuts, in two separate boxes.

Staff said, I’ll put it in one box.

I said, no, I want it in two boxes since it’s two types of sweets for two different families.

Another staff member overheard and offered to put half my order in a box and the other half in a brown paper bags.

Come on, it’s a treat for potential future customers and your nickeling and diming over a bag?

On previous posts, the owner asked for constructive suggestions.

Here’s a few solutions on how your staff could have resolved this issue.

1. Offered the second box with your company logo.

2. Stock boxes to accommodate 3 items.

3. Create a button on your POS machine to charge for a second box if you’re that worried about inventory.

Poor customer service. Now I have to gift sweets in brown paper bags.

So shameful. It’s 2025. Literally, do better.

Edit: San Remo Bakery in Etobicoke did exactly what you failed to do. I’ll attach a photo for reference. This is a learning opportunity to do better in customer service. I wouldn’t have minded paying an additional fee if your staff had presented me with the option as opposed to stating the only option was all six donuts must fit in one box. Again, another learning opportunity in customer service.

Stiemer makes great baked goods, and the doughnuts are a highlight. Old-school feel that should be retained. Fair prices.
