Leaving a one star after my only two experiences here that were both just strange.
1. Came on a Tuesday and was charged a 2$ service charge because on 2 for 1 Tuesdays you need to order a drink. Had I know that, I would have ordered one. But again the server never informed.
2. Came again and there was all kinds of strangeness. First, I was charged a dollar for a box because I asked for the second pizza to go, however my friend wasn’t charged for his box because he didn’t ASK for his to go, but took it to go….
Next, she told us to each pay half of the total bill amount even though we ordered different pizzas at different price points saying that they don’t split bills on Tuesdays…
Anyway, when I spoke to the waitress about not being told about the box charge or the other issues she tried to bring my friend into the convo saying that he should know about it, she then said “this is what the tell us to do”.. when I simply said that whether they upcharge or add service charges for non-ordering of drinks etc they just NEED to inform the guest she just stared at me and asked if I wanted my dollar.
Zero customer service. Zero transparency. Zero accountability.
Oh and when she asked if I wanted a copy of my reciept and I replied no, she said okay I’ll just burn it???
Avoid this place if you can because 2 for 1 pizza isn’t worth it when you have to deal with this.

We heard great things about the pizza here. It was recommended by a few people as well. We didn’t even eat here. We walked in and were greeted with dirty looks from every one. The male server told us it was symphony night and the female waiter said they could seat us if we order and eat quick. My husband and I just turned and walked out. We didn’t get to eat and wouldn’t return if we ever were back here. See 5 star review of Mootz pizza for the best pizza we’ve ever had and a welcoming dining experience in Detroit.

Great pizzas! Very high-quality ingredients, and they take their time making it right. Prices are a bit high for such small pies, but you sometimes get what you pay for, and this is such a place. When I'm next craving a higher-quality pizza, I'll be coming back.

Good pizza (that being said, I still prefer Windsor style pizza for its crust and flavour), but the Caesar we ordered didn’t taste like Caesar salad at all. 🤷♀️ Pizza was good for a more traditional style, though. 👌

Great little hidden gem in downtown. Traditional pizzeria atmosphere friendly staff and excellent wood fired pizza! You'll love the smell of the wood fired oven when you enter. Absolutely love this place! A+ highly recommended.

I am not generally a fan of pizza, but this one is clearly an exception. This location has appetizing, brick fire baked pizzas, with a gluten-free crust option. Cozy atmosphere with friendly service. - Angela
