We have long been loyal Cook Shop customers and I am writing this review as we recently ordered a take-out catered dinner for ten people and it was outstanding from start to finish!
The entire process was smooth — from placing the order and the excellent recommendations to the thoughtful packaging that made serving at home so easy.
Every dish was fresh, flavourful, and hot as if we were eating at their charming and intimate restaurant. Our guests could not stop raving about the quality and generous portions, from their signature caesar salad to the Orechetti a La Sausice with rapini. We also served Chicken Lemonata paired with mushrooms and it was perfection on a plate. Their tiramisu served as an outstanding finish to an already exceptional meal. My guests were asking the ingredients in every dish as the flavours were spectacular.
The staff was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. It is evident they take great pride in both their culinary quality and customer service.
It had not crossed our minds to use this incredible restaurant for catering, and we are so glad we did. For me, The Cook Shop delivers a dining experience worthy of Michelin Star recognition. I highly recommend The Cook Shop for anyone looking for a stress-free, delicious catering option. They will be catering all of my future dinner parties.
If I could rate our dining experience at The Cook Shop a 10/5, I would. 5/5 just isn’t enough. Our server, Carlos Jr. was so kind and attentive. The food was phenomenal. I don’t have one bad thing to say. If you go, ask for Carlos Jr as your server, he truly made the experience!
Great spot. Been a couple of times and will go back!
My partner and I are huge fans of beef tartare. We haven’t been to The Cook’s Shop in a while and found out they have beef tartare on their menu! We decided to go check it out! We ordered the beef tartare, angus beef scaloppine piccata with risotto and angus beef ribeye steak with mash potatoes. The beef tartare was the bomb dot com. It was amazing and we felt like we were in beef tartare heaven! Such a generous portion too! We’ve been to numerous places in the last few months trying beef tartare from different restaurants. This place had the best beef tartare we’ve ever had! This blows the beef tartare that we had in Montreal out of the water. It has a nice tangy acidic flavour and it comes with toasted bread. The smokiness from the bread was a really nice addition to the flavour. I got the angus beef scaloppine piccata sautéed with butter, lemon and mushrooms which was cooked to perfection. A very flavourful risotto and seasonal vegetables accompanied the meal. I really enjoyed it! The tenderloin was so juicy! My partner got the ribeye angus beef steak which came with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. He also really enjoyed it as well! Nice and char on the outside, nice, juicy and tender on the inside. Again, it was cooked to perfection. The mash potatoes were soooo delicious! Last but not least, the service was phenomenal. Our server was very attentive and a great conversationalist! The owner’s dad even came our table to make sure our food was okay! Both made sure we were content with our meals. We will definitely be back! 😊
From the service to the food everything was amazing, honestly the best Beef Tartare I've ever had and I've tried many!
A must have when in town! I go out of my way to eat here every time I am in town or passing by the area. The ambiance of the place is amazing, and the food!! It is the best food I have ever eaten. From the table bread to the dessert, hands down the best spot around.
Burnt black calamari , carbonara pasta that was brown and rock hard bacon . It’s all overpriced disgusting food. . Server was so condescending his response to everything was “ fair enough. “ go elsewhere. I miss the original owners .
An unexpectedly exquisite experience! Tucked away in what might appear to be a basement apartment (only at night time), this restaurant has ambience, menu and taste of one of finest Italian restaurants I have ever visited! A definite must visit while in the City of Roses, Windsor.

Me and my partner enjoy coming to the Cookshop every anniversary and birthdays. We always enjoy the food. We especially look forward to the bread and garlic butter, as well as their special spicy sauce. Our most recent visit we had amazing service from Carlos Junior. He was attentive, kind and ensured we had a great dinner.

Very noisy and cramped.
This summer we had a group and their air conditioning wasn't working properly, not sure it was a one time thing tho. Owner gave us a gift card but we weren't allowed to use it with that hot sweaty inconvenienced meal. I found out when the owner came out to tell me I was not allowed to use it with very little tact. we decided to wait till winter to use the gift card and that was my last visit as I am not enjoying the experience there anymore due to not only those experiences and the quality of the food is not what it was.

Atmosphere is very intimate, cozy and beautiful. Service was great. Wine, bread, appetizers (though very overpriced), and Caesar salad were also amazing, though my lasagna was very salty and also very expensive I didn’t care for it. Infact everything was expensive. Our total cost for our group costed more than a mortgage payment!
If you have a young child that requires a highchair or booster seat you may need to bring your own in as they don’t have any. This also means they don’t have a children’s menu though you can modify what they have on their menu to make it kid friendly (no macaroni and cheese or chicken fingers).

Fantastic food! The stroganoff was definitely better than I expected. I was sad to have missed the braised short rib pasta which was just recently phased out for new seasonals but it just gives me an excuse to come back if it goes back on the menu. The salad and bread were far better than typical, even for an upscale spot like this. Presentation and service start to finish all fantastic and really completes the experience. Everything I am most interested in on the menu does seem to be a bit on the pricey side, however with inflation these days it's not unreasonable, but it's also not a price point that I will be returning on a frequent basis, but will likely save for date night or celebration. All things considered, five stars, thank you to Junior and Dave. I hope to come again to try more fantastic food.

Had our monthly date night here. Quiet and romantic. The service was perfectly timed and Carlos, our server, was very knowledgeable about wine pairings and menu items. My only complaints would be my carbonara was very salty, I think the chef didn’t account for the saltiness of the pancetta. Also maybe add a few more items to the appetizer menu that aren’t raw or fish (picky bf) But overall a fantastic experience
