I normally have a great experience with the staff at the Victorian Tavern. However, this past weekend, we were treated terribly by the female bartender (wears glasses I believe). We were getting a couple rounds of drinks with the other AMAZING bartenders with no issue at all. When we went up for another round, she took our order and made our drinks for the first time. We paid for the drinks, but as soon as we took a sip, realized she had made the wrong drinks. This could have been an honest mistake, so we politely approached her, apologized for bothering her (although it was her mistake) and asked if it would be possible to switch them out for the right drinks. She was extremely hostile and rude, yelled at us, laughed in our faces, and told us that our only options were that we could drink the wrong drinks or she could pour out the drinks that we paid for without making any new ones. I’ve never been more blatantly disrespected and scammed by anyone in my life. We ended up just leaving because I had absolutely no desire to argue, I just wanted to have a nice time and enjoy the drink that I ordered and paid for. If you go the vic, avoid the female bartender with glasses and who normally wears a hat AT ALL COST.
Yesterday my husband and I decided to finally check this place out. You see, my husband's father had played at this facility with his band before his passing in 1998. The cherished video can be found on YouTube. After hearing such great reviews, we were so excited to go. We got in, got a drink and sat down. We were given menus. The place was not very busy, half the tables were empty. I enthusiastically told the bartender it was our first time being there.
We then watched as the 2 servers repeatedly ignored us and helped the same tables and people 4 times. It was like were totally invisible. We were so hungry and just got our tax return, prepared to blow a bunch of money on food and drinks after a long week at work.
After 28 minutes being totally ignored, we realized they didn't want our money so we paid 16 bucks for our 2 drinks and left without anyone taking our orders. We had to go to the bar to pay, because that's how badly they didn't want our money.
In the end we drove back to Gilligan's, the BEST place in Walkerville, for service and food. We were so disappointed and will never go back, or recommend the Vic to anyone. We just left shaking our heads and thinking how anyone can afford to ignore their customers in this economy.
Do better.

Great place for a good time. It is quite small and it can get very crowded. The service was good but due to the overflow of people and the small bar area, it takes some time to get a drink.

Karaoke was a hit inside and outside on the patio was a cozy vibe. Definitely going again.

It would be better if they had normal HVAC in the bar. It seems to be lacking. There were just fans, and when it gets cold, you see portable heaters (Something you'd expect in a factory than in a bar). It got hot in there one night and it ended up closing early due to lack of customers until almost the last minute. Even heard some customers complaining it was like a gym session in there. Doesn't make sense for a bar to lack HVAC. I don't think a bar should lack such a thing since people tend to come in to escape the heat or cold. I strongly suggest ownership does something about this so people (customers AND employees) don't sweat or freeze inside. Some nights also get overcrowded for the size of the place (You'd expect that more in a nightclub on Ouellette than in a small bar).
Parking: Either park on the street, or on the empty space across from the bar (beware of the lack of lighting).
Wheelchair accessibility: There doesn't appear to be any

A small town pub, loaded with friendly regulars. Lots of music talent - Blues and Jazz nights. Check the schedule - very impressive.
