Came here when they first opened great experience. My girlfriend and I purchased a drink and some random things from the store. Then proceeded to the back of the store to see the cats. We spoke with an employee and signed a form and hung out, it was great.

We decided to come back and it was horrible experience. We looked around the store, then started to open the door to the back to see the cats where we were stopped by a very passive aggressive employee. We were asked if we had been there before, we said yes. Then the employee said, “well then you know you have to pay” in a very sassy manner. So we walked back to the cash and we stated when we came in here the first time we didn’t have to pay. She went on a childish rant about how people were sneaking into the back room not paying. I explained that our first visit there was no signs saying to pay, no one at the cash said anything, the employee that had us sign the form in the cat room didn’t say anything. Then she admitted that it was unorganized at first. I told her that her attitude and passive aggressive comments were not helpful. We asked how much it cost to go see the cats. She said in sarcastic tone above me. We decided that with her attitude and the price to pet a couple cats it wasn’t worth it and left. As we were walking out the door she made comments to us. I turned around and asked what she said, she continued to make comments towards us and ran to back. I made a comment towards her about acting her age and acting childish.

This place isn’t worth it. The humane society in Sarnia is so much better!! It’s two hour drive, but there it’s free, they have all their cats in a big room. You can pet them all and sit down with them. All super nice staff. Take the drive along the water there, then go to Honestly Dough for some delicious donuts, and lunch at Mad Dog. I’d rather that then this place.

At least one of not more cats have died in this cafe... Disgusted with this place tbh, it should be shut down. Even before when she was with WECHS the owner has always had an attitude and the way things are going, another cat is bound to die in her care. Sickening.

The owner is absolutely insane and does not know what she is doing. This is not a rescue for cats, it's more like a hoarding situation. There have been incidents where cats have DIED in the owners care... They're only open for events now anyways and if you're truly thinking of adopting you have to pay to even meet the cat. Would much rather support a real rescue that truly benefits the cats. The idea is nice, but Chantelle cannot run a cat cafe in a way that is truly best for the cats. Do not recommend supporting.

This place is a hidden gem. The owner of the cafe is incredible. The work she does for these animals is unbelievable. We had there vegan ic2 cream it was to die for. Highly recommended going here.

I really wanted to love this place, especially because I support the idea of cat cafés and the good causes they usually stand for. Unfortunately, each time I’ve visited, I’ve felt unwelcome, especially when bringing my two respectful kids, who truly love animals. The owner often comes across as unfriendly and like our presence is more of a burden than anything.

Also to note, I completely understand and respect the need to charge for entry to help care for the cats, but charging almost $22 for an adult and two children for just 30 minutes (especially when there were only two cats) felt hard to justify. I expected more interaction or at least a warmer atmosphere. Sadly, we won’t be returning.

The crew at Yay for strays are kind and passionate about their initiative, and the facility is clean, inviting, and super fun. The cat cafe is kid friendly for young ones who understand how to conduct themselves around animals and who are good at following house rules. Wear socks since the cat rooms are all shoe-free zones.

This is A safe haven for the homeless felines in need of loving homes. They get the best care while being monitored and socialized. The perfect place to relax amongst the purrs, while contemplating which furry feline you want to adopt. Please stop in when you have the time….you won’t be disappointed!
