It had been a while since I’ve been there, but my memory told me the fish and everything was good. The last time I was there the fish was excellent.You need a different breading, your rub is tasteless!!! The staff was very friendly. The lady that took care of me super super nice. She even carried my to go order out to my truck because I’m having open-heart surgery on the 24th of this month. but anyway, the restaurant was less than what I consider to be clean and when I got home with my to go order, my chowder wasn’t there and I probably won’t even go back and get it because I was so disappointed in the food!

Came here for the first time to have lunch with my mom. The staff was incredibly rude when they weren’t ignoring us! I ordered the fish and chips with clam chowder and am disappointed to say the least. The fish was disgusting, had no flavor and fell apart every time I tried to take a bite. The fries tasted like they had been soaking in oil for hours which might explain why my plate had a puddle of oil. The clam chowder was gross it was thick and tasted like flour and the paper cups with dipping sauce were falling apart as well. Oh and my dr. Pepper was pretty much just carbonated water. The only thing we liked about this place was the fish tanks. Will never come back!

We've been going here since it opened. And the service and food has always been great. Unfortunately we're winning today and we were one of only two groups another group had already been served we set there for several minutes I didn't get asked about drinks or orders then one of their friends came in and they went over and talked to them and took their order and never came over to our table. So we got up and left I'm sorry to say I will never go back

I got the combo with muscles, scallops, cod, and shrimp. Clam chowder and fresh cut fries. I think these were the best fries I have had in years. They taste exactly like the ones my dad would make me when I was a kid.
It was all good except the Dr. Pepper. I never send things back but did with the Dr. Pepper. I am not sure exactly was wrong with it. It tasted like a glass of water someone put a bit of carbonation in and maybe a shot worth of old doctor pepper. That's kinda what it was like. She mentioned that that spout has issues sometimes so that's probably what it was.
The fish was pretty good, didn't have as much flavor as what's on the coast, a lot larger cod pieces than I thought, coconut shrimp was perfect, didn't love the muscles but I think that's just personal preference. The scallops were very good tho. The chowder was pretty solid but not my fav.
Next time, I'll be getting double French fries and some coconut shrimp and a water. I loved those fries so much.
Service was great and it was fun listening to her talk to customers about her life. I also absolutely loved the atmosphere and the salt water fish tanks!!

I’ve lived several blocks away from this place for 3 years now and I finally gave it a try today. Very delicious seafood, some of the best homemade fries. 10/10 will come back and eat here again!
The Depot is my FAVORITE restaurant for seafood when I visit Albany (I live in Salem)! The hosts and staff are always cheerful and friendly! The Fried Oysters (Large) are expertly, fried, large, and mouthwatering deliciousness!! Thanks, JACKIE!! The salad it came with was a, really, nice surprise; it was garnished with baby-bay shrimp, reminding me of a Shrimp Louie Salad! The wedge fried were "bite-sized" and deliciously fresh! My daughter tried the fish taco and would recommend a "hot" soft tortilla shell instead of a cold one. However, The Thick, Breaded Cod Fish, and red-cabbage garnish, was OUTSTANDING in flavors!! #You'reStillMyFavoriteSpot

They have meal sizes for all ranges of people and their calamari appetizer is not only outstanding but they give you a good sized portion!!
Highly recommended to anybody who wants to have a nice seafood meal in a setting that could remind you of something you might find an Old England.

As someone who has grown up and lived on the Oregon Coast most of my life The Depots chowder is the best chowder in Oregon. It is sooo creamy and flavorful. It’s truly amazing how they make it so creamy. The home fries are also top notch. The service is always wonderful and the prices are very affordable.
