The front door had liquor license suspended. I had to ask for everything !! A bowl! Chopsticks they broke. Food was awful!! 5 plates had to return octopus because it smelled terrible. The chef smelled it and threw it away.
Unfortunately, Fish has no flavor and there is so much rice packed around the sushi roll it tastes bland.
I haven't eaten in, but their foods amazing and they do great things with their small space!
Great belt sushi restaurant. Good drinks too.
So good! We would totally go again.
Yeah, I go there every Friday. I have a couple of dishes for a friendly people good food.
Top notch
Fair prices, good food, genuine service, and friendly! Our favorite sushi place!
I’ve visited Kaiyo over five times, and it’s always a pleasant experience. The staff are friendly and the place is never too busy. The sushi is consistently great, especially when I order from the menu for that extra freshness. Kaiyo is definitely my favorite spot to eat in Albany—10/10!
Menu needs to update for the price.

Visited on January 25 - It took 15 minutes to get water and 25 minutes for a basic creamy scallop dish, even after I followed up multiple times with the young blonde server, who had about as much customer service skill as an eggplant! I’m not expecting five-star service, but this is the second time in a month that I’ve experienced terrible service here. I won’t be returning for overpriced sushi again! I’d rather drive the extra 10 minutes to Corvallis for better prices, tastier food, and service that actually cares about its customers.
Conveyor belt sushi…I get it, it is what it is, but having to wait 15 minutes for water and 25 minutes for a simple creamy scallop order despite repeated follow ups with the server gal, who had the customer service skills of an eggplant?! This was the second instance of poor service in the past month. There won’t be a third for over priced sushi going round and round! I’ll drive the extra 10 minutes to Corvallis for less expensive, better tasting, and quality service that cares about its patrons.
Consistently great sushi! I especially love there sweet potatoes roll
I was excited to try this place, but unfortunately had a poor experience. I have never seen servers and chefs lose their cool like this, or really ever. It was wild to see the servers talk so horribly to the chefs. I mean screaming and borderline breaking down. I was extremely uncomfortable watching this behavior. I was hoping they would just come take my order so I could focus on my food but they never did. After grabbing one roll from the conveyor belt I had to ask for chopsticks, wasabi, and ginger. The roll wasn’t too bad actually but a bit fishy in my opinion. The vibes of the place due to the words from the servers, paired with overall awful service, I decided that was enough. I’ve never left a restaurant early until Kaiyo. Other customers seemed noticeably uncomfortable too. I’m a mellow person and it takes a lot to get to me, and I could not stand to pretend to enjoy a meal here.
Should really have someone who can serve alcohol at all times, but the food is always amazing!
