Raphael was the best server with awesome personality. My friend & I enjoyed relaxing, fun visit & good margaritas & plenty of chips & salsa & delicious dinners. Tapatio ambience was fun with colorful MX decor. Raphael perfectly separated our extra food orders to go for our friends at work.

The food was pretty good. Burritos were a good size. As others have mentioned, getting charged for chips and salsa beyond the first basket is subpar, especially when you have a group. Service was not great as our server seemed to not particularly care to be there. When our check was brought to our table, it took our server 18 minutes to return to take our cards to pay the tab. When she returned. We asked if we could break up our bill since we had two parties. She said yes and left and came back with it split in half without the option to pay for our own items. Food was good, but probably will not return as there are much better restaurants in the area, and with the cost of the food, other places have a better value.

If you like mediocre Mexican food, then this restaurant may be fine. We visited this establishment last week, however, and discovered that they now CHARGE you for chips and salsa , beyond the first small bowl of chips and very small amount of salsa that they initially provide you. No other Mexican restaurant that we go to has this absurd policy for chips and salsa. Even though they are only a few blocks from where we live, we'll be very content to drive past El Tapatio to go to a restaurant that does not have this policy. What a shame.

We’ve been going here for a while as it’s close to our home, and most times we had pretty good experiences until today. Today I walked in with my young kid and was initially completely ignored by a server who was nearby — she glanced me over and turned away without saying a word. Then another server came out and just stared at me almost angrily, kinda like “what the heck do you want?”. Not a “hello”, “how many people?” nothing. I had to break that stare by saying “table for two?” She grabbed menus and carelessly dropped them on the table nearest to the door without a word and rushed off. There were many booths free deeper into the restaurant, but she chose to seat us at the door, where the door was opening and closing all the time, and it’s not exactly summer.All the time this person came to our table she didn’t smile and didn’t bother to stay an extra second. Acted like she couldn’t care less and we were not welcome. Oddly enough, she smiled to other tables.I want to add that I am a white-collar professional who’s groomed etc., so I cannot comprehend why my sweet kid (who acted perfectly at the restaurant, by the way) and I were made feel so unwelcome today from the first second we stepped inside.

Loved the bean dip included with the table chips... Nice addition to a common staple and they were quite tasty! My wife had some excellent enchiladas and she thought the taco was amazing. Chili Verde was good. Service was excellent. Overall about 4.5 stars?
