I am so sad to hear that Sumpter Junction closed. My first experience was decades ago, traveling back and forth between Salem, Oregon and Cortez, Colorado to take my wife to and from school every year. I went there as a kid 😃 to watch the 🚂 go by, and as an adult I ate there for sentimental reasons because of their 🚂, until the prices went up I hardly ate there until (I 🤔 😷 COVID-19) it closed 🔐 down it was 😢 to see a sentimental icon be gone: it is what it is.
I've always had a great experience in this place. The service is great, I feel welcomed every time we go in. The food is consistent and comes out fresh, hot and in a timely matter...great place to take the whole family.
