Usually like subway. Not this trip.

It’s just a Subway (no hate, I love it on road trips), but I’m taking the time to leave a review because every time I’ve stopped here driving through Burns the service has been exceptional and the sandwiches especially good. Many thanks to the staff!

I wish we could give this subway more than 5 stars. The owner really cares about his guests, was engaged, funny, personable, and kind. We have 7 kids. We eat a lot of subway on our travels.. our oldest is nearly 19, that’s a LOT of subway experiences in many states and locations, and THIS was the best one we’ve ever been to when is comes to service, owner and his employees.
He even came over to our table and gave us some bacon for our service dog. ❤️

I was unpleased when I saw one of the workers restocking the veggies and other food with no gloves on and then proceeded to count money meanwhile she had two bandages on. I just thought that was kinda yuck and rude…

Been in twice now. First time, younger girl with some cool stars on her arm helped me. Thought she might rip my head off, but I stumbled over my words a bit, and boy did she come to life. Deadpan humor, real quick with it. Genuinely funny once you snap her out of autopilot. Sandwich was solid, stacked right, no complaints.
Second time, I got the older one. Probably in her 20s, way more blunt. Didn’t say much but every word hit. And dang quick once you get your order laid out.
They’ve gotta be related somehow. Same energy. They're good at what they do. Would love to see them both on the same shift together if I'm back around.
I can see how some people might not like it. But if you’ve raised wild daughters like I have, you get it. You feel weirdly at home.
And their music- glad to see my generation's tunes are still alive somewhere.

Overall things were good. It was surprisingly busy for a Tuesday at 1pm. The staff was friendly, just a little slow. I got the chicken teriyaki sandwich which didn't come with enough sauce, and my grandma got the meatball sub with lettuce and tomato which also didn't have enough from what she's used to.
I had no problems with it, but I'm sure others did, two groups of people brought their pets inside (which is totally understandable since it was over 90° outside, you can't leave them in the car...). But two dogs and two cats I'm sure is breaking some sort of health code.

We stop here regularly on our way through. Today wasn't their best day, the men's restroom was nasty and the paper towels machine was inoperative. The helpers all appeared like they would rather be ANY where else but there and their attitudes showed it. We couldn't grab and go fast enough.
