We had the best experience at Gatsby’s. The food was phenomenal! The atmosphere was perfect and the chef and server were amazing. Thank you for a fabulous date night.

The inside of the restaurant was clean, cozy and well decorated. It is very small, only 5 tables and is by reservation only. There is one cook and one server, both great and both spend time with each table. The food was presented beautifully. It looks better than it tastes, however, it isn't awful. I just didn't think it warrants the prices. We had a bottle of wine, sea scallops for an appetizer, one filet each, lobster tail, a loaded baked potato and green beans to share, then the cheesecake from Carnagey deli in New York, of course. Total with 20% tip was $500. The scallops were a bit overcooked and rubbery but had okay flavor. The steak was drenched in a sauce that was very salty and, in my opinion, ruined the flavor of the steak. The loaded potato was huge, you can't really go wrong with a baked potato, although, it could have used a little more butter and sour cream. The lobster, green beans and cheesecake were all very good, my favorite part of the whole meal. I'm happy to have had the experience, but I will not return in the future with the current prices.

Absolutely fabulous! The scallops were delicious and perfectly prepared. The stuffed potato was incredible. The Filet was so tender, delicious, and exactly rare/medium rare. The wine selections were outstanding, and the cocktails were divine. Overall, it is a magnificent restaurant. Chef Jeffrey came out to check on us several times (with some great stories that he shared), and Melissa was an excellent hostess/server. Gatsby's is well worth the price. It is truly a superb dining experience.

Made reservations for 6 pm in a corner booth, was confirmed 3 times , two by email and one voice that afternoon when we arrived they didn't have that I made the reservation. So I canceled not only that nights reservation but also the next Sunday night reservation. With that kind of attention to a reservation, how can one expect the service and dinner to go.

OMG what a dinner!@ caesar, ribeye.lobster. ALL to die for. I can't forget the cosmo and red velvet cake@ wow. Can't wait to come back this summer! Thank you chef!

Didn't go, just wanted them to have a sense of how much business they are losing based on the sticker shock of the enormous menu prices. Give people a sense they can get two entrees for under $100 and you will fare far better.

Warm inviting atmosphere - dinner excellent - our server personable & attentive & chef friendly & engaging as he took the time to greet all of his guests! Filet was cooked perfectly & baked potato was over the top - definitely will return & encourage anyone wanting a special evening to give this establishment a try!!!

How do you possibly review perfection? Second time we went and I'm already trying to determine when our third will be. Delicious steaks, lobster, wine, and service. You get to know the chef in a small intimate setting while indulging in the best talent there is on this coast. Not even kidding a little bit on this. Mortons, Gaucho, Ruth's....they can't even touch this man's expertise. Truly.

UPDATE :Received a phone call from The Chef. We admire him reaching out, however it was met with a lecture on what food poisoning is and how he only uses the best ingredients. We weren't questioning his methods but we got sick from our food. There was no genuine empathy or efforts to resolve and make better. Again we love to support local businesses but this didn't come from a place of concern and empathy it seemed to come from a bruised ego. A simple "I'm so sorry this happened we strive on perfection and that is not what you receive let us make it up to you" would have been better.Me and my fiancé were visiting from out of state and we wanted to treat ourselves to a nice dinner while dressing up and having an experience in return what we've got was an overpriced $300 check for small portions and oily dishes, mocktails prized as alcoholic drinks would and food poisoning from a bad Halibut, we spent all night sick and going to the bathroom, Save your money and get yourself a Fetta pizza which was delicious for just 30 bucks.

How do I ever go back to my mundane palletized diet after this? The wagyu filet mignon was rich, finely cut and presented with an in-house, unique sauce. The scallops were wonderfully plated and presented with a delicious flavor, as well as a crispy, golden texture. The service from Dominic, Michelle and Jeff was personal, intimate, and catered to a connective dining experience. We will be back and if you don’t come, we will happily take your table. What an experience!Dietary restrictions: Unique mock-tails available upon request. Catered well to pregnancy restrictions.

If this place wasn't in a tourist town it would go out of business in a hurry. The service was good the food on the other hand not so much the mushrooms were raw with some sort of filling in them either way they were a disaster. My wife had the lobster tails for 88 dollars which were petrified my steak was good but was it 400 dollar steak house dinner good no. Come to cannon beach it's a great place but pass on dinner at gatsbys.

Best restaurant either my wife or I have ever been to. The food was out of this world! Definitely a location to come back to!

Spent over $300 for two people on our anniversary. Have had vastly better meals for a fraction of the price.Poorly executed dishes, burnt tasting scallops. Poor experience overall. Much better options in the area.

I honestly had high hopes for this place as one of the top rated restaurants in Cannon Beach. My husband and I ordered the caprese salad, a ribeye steak, the lobster tails and drinks. It was overpriced and underwhelming. The cocktails were ok, I’ve had a lot of Aperol spritz but this one was really diluted and lacking in flavour. The ribeye was ordered medium and came out beyond well done and extremely over seasoned (both the meat and Demi glacé it was soaking in). The lobster tails were also over cooked and the butter to dip lacked any real flavour. The sides which had to be ordered separately from the entree proteins were good quality produce but also extremely over seasoned and oily. The restaurant is a tribute to The Great Gatsby with movie themed props and posters which was a little kitschy. The chef/ owner spent a great deal of time talking with guests but perhaps should have spent more time focusing on the food going out (as he was the only chef working the dinner service). Not worth the money.
