Elmer's Restaurant (Clackamas, OR)

I really struggled with the rating. I tried to have no expectations. I tried to let the food speak for itself, if I did that I would’ve given it a 1 star. I tried to let the service speak for itself, if I did that, the rating might’ve been a 3 star for average nut the food wasn’t good enough for that high of rating. I ordered the Chicken fried steak and eggs with side of bacon, black coffee and oj Coffee-it’s ok. Not terrible. Have worse and have had better Table top is loose. It moves. Opens at 7 am on Sunday which is kind of late for diners. This is a chain restaurant. The music too loud and bad which ruins the experience. Waitress is nice, too bad the food isn’t. OJ was good. Eggs were slightly overcooked and bland. I had to add salt and pepper. I don’t consume a whole lot of salt, I shouldn’t have to. The food should be seasoned nicely, but it wasn’t. So for me to add salt is a big thing. Hashbrowns could be cooked longer and in desperate need of seasoning. Chicken fried steak was cooked fine. But that gravy. They really need to learn how to make gravy. Not much of flavor. Bland but what little flavor it had was bad. I don’t know what “meat” that was in it but it tasted like imitation meat. The bacon was overcooked and you only 3 for $5. What a rip off. The only good thing is that it wasn’t salty. But in this case it was bad because the food really needed salt, so could’ve used it. You got the food promptly. What does it matter to get the food fast of it isn’t any good? The food is not worth the price for poor quality food.

The food was good, warm, not hot. Servings large enough to share. Decore old and tired.

Food is ok, service is ok as well, the atmosphere is good but the heat of the room was cold drafty. I noticed two other customers had their coats on as well

I asked for not so crispy bacon and got burnt bacon. I told the server about it and she replaced my bacon how I wanted it cooked but she seemed to have a bad attitude, even before the incident. Overall food was good and atmosphere is cozy like always.

Feels like dining in my grandma's dining room and the food is always consistently good, but it's still diner food and the prices are a bit much. The service was excellent though

Old homey atmosphere. Service was on the slower side but very friendly and kind. Mom never got her Bloody Mary she ordered but we also didn’t make a fuss about it. Food was very good. Hot and cooked well. I really enjoyed the German pancake. I have never had before. Love the texture and wasn’t too sweet. Strawberries were delicious. Daughter loved her kids meal chicken strips and fries. Mother loved her crab Benedict as well, she said 5 stars eggs cooked perfectly. Overall we would come back and try the rest of the menu the prime rib looks so good!

Elmers is terrible on 82nd drive

Chicken fried steak tasted freezer burnt. Stuffed hash browns were cold in the middle and the potato was not cooked. Gravy on both dishes was cold. The bartender was indifferent at best. She did check on us, but when we asked for napkins she tossed them on the table.
