I recall the Grateful Bread as being more vegan-friendly decades ago. Now, they qualify as what I'd call 'grudgingly vegan-friendly'. They have two clearly marked vegan entries on the menu (though it took a little while to spot them), and one or two that could be made vegan, but that's it. The servers are also aware of which breads are vegan. I had a potato and tofu scramble with sourdough, and it was fine. I give them credit for having vegan options, but wish they had more. As an eatery, it's clearly targeted at meat eaters with some consideration for their vegan friends.
Very good pastries and good classic breakfast as well.
Excellent breakfast spot, and service. Busy on the weekends so expect a wait. I definitely will visit again
Never had a bad experience
We ate breakfast here before heading out of town after a family vacation. The food and coffee were delicious. The service was friendly. It seemed to be a very popular place, so we were glad that we called ahead to reserve a table for our large group of 13. We would return if we ever find ourselves on the Oregon coast again!
We had a bit of a wait but was totally worth it. My husband and I shared the Dory cod, pineapple, purple onion, and cabbage wrap - it was so good! We also split a bowl of creamy chicken noodle soup with sourdough baguette slices. It was all very delicious.
Delicious. The biscuits with homemade strawberry jam was incredible.
Our favorite for breakfast on the Oregon coast. They go out of their way to make things special. My delight is the French toast, that is out of the world, make sure you get real apple syrup to go with the fresh fruit compote, adds an extra Yum.
Awesome place! ? We go there now every time we go to Pacific City for a weekend alone, kids left w gma and gpa. It feels great, they're very friendly, there are nice, large windows, and the food is exceptional and comforting. Highly recommend.

Awesome scones and awesome folks!
UPDATE : still the best scones you’ll ever have - this is the best food place in Pacific City! The savory scones are a family favorite (ham and cheese, yes please!) as well as the marionberry with white chocolate and the cherry almond - YUM!!! The scones are huge but you won’t want to share.
Parking: If you arrive right when they open there’s usually plenty of parking, but depending on when you’re visiting parking may be a little tight in the busier times (weekends jn the summer particularly).

We had a terrific lunch in this charming little cottage of a restaurant. The food and service was top notch.

Wonderful place. Best house made biscuit I’ve ever had. All the food came out correct, warm, and delicious.

We walked in excited to try the supposed awesome food. Greeted by scowls from all four waitresses. Asked if we seated ourselves or waited. The place was not busy at all. There were lots of open tables. We were told we’d be seated in a few minutes. Scowls from everyone again. We left. Terrible. Terrible customer service from a group of wait-persons that should know better. Go to Village Cafe instead for some real people.

I have never been disappointed, but today I was blown away!!! I wasn’t very hungry and just ordered a breakfast sandwich and our lovely server suggested I have it on their bagel of the day (I don’t particularly care for bagel sandwiches, but trusted her advice), WOW!!! Most amazing bagel I’ve ever had!!! NY good? No, NY FANTASTIC!!! My mouth wanted 20 more, but my tummy couldn’t even finish it. I don’t like leftovers or take out, but saved this and am enjoying it now, counting the seconds until they open tomorrow morning ?

Went for breakfast and had the Sunshine Day Dream with sourdough toast. I added a side of salsa, which helped add some flavor. The meal was hot and full of veggies and tasted good with the addition of salsa. They also have an Asian tofu wrap. Updated from previous review on 2024-09-30
