Steakhouse at Cove, Review
We left Joseph at 8:00 am for our 9:30 reservation.
Best part of this experience was the 75 mile drive thru Lostine, Wallowa, Miniam canyon, beautiful day.
We arrived on time at the Steakhouse at Cove restaurant for the advertised all you can eat Buffet. Our reservation was not recorded, but we were seated right away. The Hostess was pleasant.
The restaurant was noticeably cold.
Wide variety of breakfast items:
I selected a small sample of each item, Bacon (cold and greasy), Ham (cold), Sausage ( cold and flavorless?), Scrambled Eggs (warm but mushy; obviously from a carton, Sink Scramble? (Sausage, cubed Potato and Egg, not tasty).
French Toast, Pancakes, Waffles and Scones were dry and cold.
The Biscuit was fresh, Gravy was very salty.
As shown I didn’t eat much of the above.
I tried the pastry selection, Blue Berry Muffin, Chocolate covered Donut, some kind of Peanut Butter filled pastry and Homemade Sourdough Toast.
Thank goodness for the Toast with some Smuckers
Obviously we wont be back for the Buffet, maybe we will challenge th we $50 Prime Rib.

The food was great! We ordered Wisconsin cheese curds for an appetizer. I enjoyed every bite of my steak. It was flavorful and tender. My husband ordered the pizza and said it was very good. Alittle spendy but Would recommend

Poor service, nobody seemed to know what was going on. Server was dressed in appropriate attire for a “steak house.” Went downhill from last time I passed through earlier this year.

I was in the area and heard there was a steakhouse here, so I thought I'd try it out. As soon as we got in we were hit by hot swampy stagnant air, but figured it might be worth it for a good meal. No hostess or server in sight, takes about 10 minutes to be acknowledged and put at a table.
The entire restaurant had the vibe of a dive bar. But after looking at the menu and seeing a 12 ounce ribeye for 50 dollars, clearly that means I should expect a little more. For that price, I'd expect at least a little bit of service. Only spotted a waitress one time in the 20 minutes we sat there, and we weren't acknowledged once or even brought water.
With those price tags and no service to justify the prices, we just left. Maybe they just don't like to serve non-locals there. We'll stick with Haines Steak House like we usually do.

They charged me $5 for a medium sized soda to go. I tried giving them business but I should of walked across the street and bought one. Never been back never will. If i dine out, i drive to the next town.
Good food, great service but a little pricey.

Random pick. We are in LaGrande often and looking for something different. We found it here and will be back. Great food
