We recently visited Maragas and had a great experience. Afterwards, I went down a rabbit hole reading reviews (including the recent one star from a self proclaimed “wine expert”). I looked through that person’s other reviews too and it made me appreciate even more how unfair and ridiculous that comment was.

It’s wild to see someone claim to be a “wine expert” and then leave a one-star review telling others not to stop in. My expert opinion on that expert.. it’s not expertise, it’s ego. Anyone who’s passionate about wine or beer knows discovery is half the fun. If you care about supporting local farmers and food producers, trust your own palate and not someone else’s ego.

I live in Washington, and a friend in Oregon sent me a box of wines from Maragas. Every bottle was outstanding, but the Malbec in particular was our favorite… smooth, rich, and beautifully balanced. You can taste the care that went into each wine. I’ll definitely be ordering more and hope to visit the winery soon.

I had an amazing time at Maragas Winery! The grape stomping experience was so much fun, and the atmosphere was fantastic. Doug, Gina, and all their employees were incredibly welcoming and made the experience even more special. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy great wine, quality time with family, and the stunning scenery. I highly recommend it!

The owner and workers are what keeps this country going. If you are impatient and don’t understand the process, you won’t get Maragas. Those who do. Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy!

I don’t have a dog (she passed 3 months ago) and these people tried to chastise me for trying to bring a dog. The Blanco is great and Tempranillo is good, the rest of the wine is bad wine - high VA, oxidized, high total sulfur. Headache wine. One of the wines is easily above 1.2 volatile acidity and is illegal to serve.

Setting is nice and the gentleman that took care of us was friendly enough, but unfortunately this is where the positives of this place end. Little to no conversation about the wine. The wine itself was hard to pallet and a bit odd. This would be fine if the prices reflected the quality of wine but unfortunately not..... several bottles up over $60. Don't like giving bad reviews but the price to quality ratio of this

Update: clearly AI automated response from the owner, didn't try to bring pets or animals into this place. Clearly doesn't care about honest feedback. Changing down to one star. Take it from a wine expert... drive past this place.

Definitely worth the stop!

Great place for wine tasting and snacks while in Redmond. Located just a 10 minute drive north of Redmond. Hose as friendly an owner was super nice. Wine flight is the way to go and enjoy the hummus tray or the cheese tray. Both are really good.

We thought it would be great while visiting the area to do some wine tasting. Not impressed! Blaming the holiday weekend as why it was so busy but then heard others talking about how this place is always too busy. Which is great for their business. However, a 30 minute wait just to order the wine is not a good time when standing. Then your wine is given to you and off you go! Forget about asking questions because they do not have time for that. Ho to the Faith winery!

Beautiful, peaceful spot with a great selection of wines! The setting was quiet and relaxing — perfect for a slow afternoon. What made it even better? It was kid-friendly! Our little one had lots of fun while we enjoyed our tastings. Definitely a hidden gem in Oregon wine country.
