Unique wines of the Amarone style. If you haven't had it, you must. Unlike anything else, each of the wines have a common thread but their own complexity. Highly recommended.
I have been going to Maragas and drinking their wines since I moved to Bend in 2020. I have enjoyed seeing them expand and enter multiple contests including the San Francisco Chronicle annual blind tasting where they have won multiple golds and double golds.
I have found their wines to be remarkable in their complexity and depth of flavor. Doug has a deft hand at blending and knowing when to bottle. I count their wines among the best I've had and similar in structure to many Italian wines, which I love.
Reading the negative review makes me think the gentleman would prefer something more along the lines of Boones Farm Strawberry Hill wine.
I had been coming out for a few years and never tried the 2 wineries in the area. This wine really reminds me of North Carolina, and that's not a good thing. The flavor profile ranges from cork to formaldehyde. 2 of the 4 selections on the mixed flight were completely undrinkable. If you like to pay $5/Oz to taste bad wine, this is your place.
To the owners response: I know which wines I like. To suggest I just selected the wrong flight is insulting. I selected it based on the varietals in the blends because they are ones I have liked elsewhere. This was just some of the worst wine I've ever been served anywhere. I would never purchase a bottle.
Great selection, With delightful wine. Highly recommend their charcuterie board. The fig jam is excellent.
Phenomenal winery a few minutes from Bend. We’ve enjoyed visiting the winery a couple of times. With any luck, you might have the opportunity to enjoy live music while tasting some great wines. It’s Thanksgiving 2023 and we just had a fantastic meal with an incredible Maragus Cuvee14 Cabernet! 7 years in oak barrels! Wonderful! Good job @Doug Maragus!
Beautiful setting, lovely events, and we love the escape from Bend for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon for live music.
Good wine tasting, cheese & snack selection, nice comfortable setting, beautiful grounds, and live jazz weekend afternoons.
Great vibe, wonderful owners and staff. And the wine.. try them all!!
Had a great afternoon at Maragas with Doug and Gina

Love the Pinot Gris I got. It's very good.
Delicious wines, chocolates, and welcoming patio area. Nice stop between Portland and Bend with the kids. We appreciated the lawn games.
Such amazing people and the best wine you can get anywhere.
The 1st couple times we came to this winery we had a wonderful time we were allowed to bring outside snacks as long as we sat outside. We joined the club immediately. We enjoy the warm central Oregon weather and wine. We took our friends and family. Shortly after joining they took away being able to bring your own snacks. Also Jazz music is all they offer. We would have loved to have seen some different music opions.
Had such a lovely time here. We did the tasting tried all the reds and whites, bought a couple bottles and chatted with everyone there. So friendly and delicious wines. So glad we stopped here!
