Stopped by to burn some time. Service is absolutely horrible on a super slow Tuesday evening. Had the cracked pepper fries and a Prague underground. The fries were cold and not at all what I remember. Would not come back.
Waited 20 minutes before a server finally came over to take a drink order. Waited another 25 minutes to place our order which was two burgers and fries. Waited another 40 minutes before food arrived. The server advised us three times that the food was on its way. Finally arrived and was cold. Managers came out to tell us that the kitchen staff lost our ticket and that’s why it took so long. Being a new restaurant you expect delays but better communication would be appreciated. If it weren’t for our server Andi we would have walked out.
Lots of different brews to try. Good food, we had the tacos and the burger. Fries were crispy and nicely seasoned. We were not rushed to leave
My brother and were seated immediately on a Saturday just around dinner time. For an appetizer we had the boneless honey sriracha wings that were average. I had the super club wrap with fries that was very good. My brother said he enjoyed his Mac and cheese bowl with bread crumbs and chicken. Craft flights are sorta odd. They come in 6 ounce tulip glasses as a set of 3 and are individually priced. Good selection of the current popular craft beers. The acoustics can be loud but the atmosphere and decor is 70’s, 80’s band nostalgic. The establishment is filled with velvet pictures, posters and pictures on both lower and upper floors. Low/high/booth and bar seating. Two full bars upstairs and down. Outdoor rooftop area but a little simple with plastic chairs and tables. Wifi. Relatively clean. Rear lot or street metered parking. Pricy. I would probably return if I was in the area again.
Loved the burgers and tremendous fries we got there when we were in Detroit. We found corktown to be really cool with the hotel and restaurant choices so we were so pleasantly surprised with everything. My wife had the Nashville chicken and said it was really good too. Nice place.
First time pop-in for a pre-concert bite and beverage. From the outside looking in, it's a scene. Lots of people packed-in and waiting. Nabbed two barstools toot-sweet. Big, horseshoe bar. Convivial crowd. A bevy of microbrews to choose from. Struck up conversations with folks on both sides of us before sidling up to a pretty typical tavern menu. My fish and chips were more worthy of catch and release than kudos. I netted some seriously over-fried fillets schooling with Styrofoam peanut-dull fries and a soup cup full of dry, chopped Kale advertised as slaw. Sweetheart's Quesadilla was like a supersized communion wafer; bug, dry, brittle and thin, Amen. Got just as much bang for my buck at HopCat as we did from the $45 parking tower tab at Little Caesar's Arena. You live. You learn.
