Spectacular hotel
What a wonderful experience! This stay was originally to celebrate Valentine's Day but due to weather/road conditions we were unable to arrive on our reserved date. The general manager, Nicholas, understood the situation and adjusted our stay so that we could enjoy our stay at the inn and the surrounding wineries, restaurants, and shopping at the local stores in the nearby communities. Not only did Nicholas adjust our date of arrival, he graciously upgraded our suite to the premier suite on the property! Nicholas, a very personable young man, also took time to meet us upon our arrival and showed us around before handing us off to Maddy, a vibrant and friendly young lady, to welcome us to our suite. Maddy was very informative, providing suggestions for wineries to visit in the area and details regarding our stay at the property. She also took care of us for breakfast was wonderful just to chat with. Our suite was very impressive, modern, tastefully decorated, and extremely comfortable. The views were spectacular with vineyards on the hillside and snow covered mountains in the background. We enjoyed wine tasting at The Four Grace's Winery on property and tastings at several other nearby wineries. All were spectacular in service, views, and quality of their wines. Our stay could not have been any better, wonderful service, superior accommodations, and a very quiet and peaceful setting in this beautiful area of Oregon.

Property shared incorrect information regarding booking payments , deposit. I am planning a proposal and was excited to book a reservation only to be called an hour later stating they need to change the agreed upon payment schedule. Unfortunate.
We’ll be staying at the Allison inn and spa instead as they’ve been more forthcoming and overall better at accommodating us.

What an incredible experience! Such a beautiful venue and the room my husband and I stayed in was perfect. We were able to get a room in their new addition the Grange Estate. Breathtaking views, and the service was incredible. Ryan a manager there took excellent care of us. We were so happy with the staff and care that everyone put into our stay. Definitely need to go back soon.
Rooms: Beautiful rooms. Cozy and romantic with gorgeous views.
Nearby activities: A lot of wine tasting venues around. The most we had to drive was 10 minutes and that was to get to downtown Dundee.
Food and drinks: Breakfast is complementary when you stay with them. One of the servers made us an excellent oat milk latte every morning. Great food. We wish they would have made us food for all our meals. That was the best food we had during our time out in Dundee.
Noteworthy details: The service was excellent and the extra care they put into your stay. You can tell they love their jobs. Wonderful place.

What an absolute dreamy getaway. Nestled atop rolling vineyards with lavender and mature landscaping surrounding the property, it is peaceful, serenely and quiet all day long. The Black Walnut practically begs you to unplug and rejuvenate while visiting. Plenty to see, do and taste within a short drive or even on the grounds.
The staff does an excellent job of balancing intimate service with their guests desire to "get away", they're never too far but not overbearing. They provided great recommendations for activities and wine tastings. Nick (GM) and Ryan (Day Manager) are particularly attentive and helpful. There is no overnight staff, so plan accordingly, but it only adds to that "getaway" feeling.
The onsite wine and tasting rooms are great, but you'd do yourself a disservice by not visiting the surrounding vineyards as well. Ask Ryan for food and drink recommendations!

One of the most beautiful accommodations I've ever stayed in. Our room looked out over the Dundee Hills where we experienced the most stunning sunrises. On clear days, you can see Mount Hood and Mount Jefferson-- wow. Acres of vines. They have the sweetest livestock. A few goats and chickens that are so fun to visit after a long day of wine tasting. But don't feed the goats lol. But do give them rubs on their little heads and noses, they're so sweet. Breakfast in the morning is 5 star quality. The staff is attentive and kind, they remember your name and are eager to help in any way they can. My now husband and I went to get married out there and we hope to be back soon. Maybe make it an annual anniversary trip? 10/10 Would recommend.

As a wedding photographer, I love shooting at the Black Walnut Inn. For any bride that wants a classy, luxury and timeless wedding look no further! This venue offers stunning views of the vineyards and a modern interior. Offering a 10% off deal for any brides who books the venue and myself as a package deal.

Have been wanting to come here for years. In short, we have been coming to Willamette Valley off and on for 14 years and know the lay of the land very well. There are an abundance of hotels with spectacular views, great wine, and wonderful service. This is not one of them. View was beautiful and breakfast was pretty good though it is a very limited menu. Room was clean. Location is a bit remote, with no cell service, but that’s good if you really want to unplug. Walls are a bit thin, we could hear the tv in the room behind us which was annoying. Service was unfortunate. Our six year old was visiting his grandma while my husband and I stayed here for a couples getaway and we thought we’d have a breakfast all together the morning of our flight home. We of course expected to pay for Grammy and our son’s food. But we were told she could come but our son could not because it’s an adults only hotel. Disappointing and honestly a bit silly since it’s only breakfast and he’s not staying here, but oh well. The most unfortunate part of our experience was we received a splash of their wine when we arrived which was nice (wine was ok). However, on our last day here we asked for another splash and were rebuked. We were told their policy is only a taste when you arrive and if you want any more during your stay you must purchase a whole glass for $15. I felt this a bit miserly considering we were staying in a $700 a night suite. I mentioned this to the front desk and was given their policy again. Poorly executed service to deny a couple of paying patrons a taste of wine, doubly so when these patrons are spending almost $3000 at your hotel. So, due to poor, miserly service, and mediocre wine, I would not recommend this as a good place to stay. Perhaps just come here for the view.

My wife and I just returned from a one night stay at the Black Walnut Inn & Vineyard. To say were were satisfied is a major understatement. We were very well taken care of by Sierra. She went above and beyond to make our stay one that we will treasure forever.Since our stay was a weekday, and in the off season, we ended up being the only guests at the Inn. We had the place to ourselves. Not to mention, Sierra was kind enough to upgrade our room to the best at the Inn. Wow, we felt like royalty!Had the language been Italian, I'd swear we were in Tuscany. The views over the vineyard, the decor, design of the Inn were all outstanding.Breakfast is included in the room and it was fantastic, as is everything at the Black Walnut Inn.If you're a wine lover and someone who enjoys the better things in life, you can't go wrong with the Black Walnut Inn & Vineyard.

This was an excellent stay at an historical, beautifully renovated Inn. Service and cooked breakfast to order was above and beyond expectations. Our spacious room was an delightful experience to spend the night in. The host was particularly caring posting back an item left behind. Can’t recommend this Inn highly enough!

Black Walnut is far and away the best place I have ever stayed! The Inn itself is beautiful and well-maintained. The rooms are opulent and comfortable. The views are some of the absolute best in Oregon. But the best thing about Black Walnut is the staff. Everyone is so accommodating and friendly. Be sure to book one of the private wine pairings with Chef Chase!
