Good food, if you select salmon, remind the cook not to overcook the fish.

I’ve been eating here since Jason Smith was the chef, and it’s quality restaurant. I feel blessed to have had such great meals at the Dundee Bistro!

We left after the appetizer and honestly, we should’ve left before that.
We had a 6:30 reservation and arrived right on time, but still had to wait 10 minutes to be seated. Normally not a big deal, except half the restaurant was empty and the hostess acted like we were inconveniencing her by showing up.
Once we were seated, someone dropped off water without saying a word, even when we greeted them, which felt oddly cold. Our waitress, however, was lovely - friendly, attentive, and the only bright spot in the experience.
The overall vibe of the place was strange. I still can’t quite put my finger on it… maybe a culty, upscale Applebee’s? We decided to start with a glass of wine and an appetizer before committing to dinner. The wine (pinot gris) tasted like water (possibly could’ve been because I chugged it and felt absolutely nothing) and the Brussels sprouts while a huge portion and delivered quickly, were definitely overdressed in balsamic vinegar.
When we left, the same hostess rolled her eyes at us. She gave off serious “owner’s niece who’s the family screw-up but Uncle Tony’s trying to help her out” energy.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place. The service from our waitress was great, but everything else, from the atmosphere to the food to the front-of-house staff, was a miss.
Great streak, swordfish was perfectly cooked

A complete disaster. Reservations at 6pm. Seated at table 6:15; water and acknowledgement 6:30; ordered 6:45; dinner arrived 7:30. Manager waited on us. He crushed the cork of our own Domaine Drouhin wine. My wife’s lamb chops uneatable. My steak served on cold mashed potatoes. We were shocked at the quality of food and service.

This bistro was a wonderful experience and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the full dining experience and he mentioned spending some time working in London and came across as a true professional. The food was all cooked perfectly and I enjoyed the side of potato pave' which you don't find very often and it was delightful. If you enjoy actually dining then you should enjoy this bistro. I am not adding photos they have many on their website and they are accurate.

Unpleasant experience. Table of six and totally ignored by our server and the wait staff. When discussing the lack of service with the manager he actually argued with us and said, “i brought you some bread. “ ?? 45 mins in, finally our order was taken and delivered 1hr 15 mins after our arrival. One guest had a severe allergy and they delivered meals with the herb on the plates. Wait staff not trained, had to ask to have our salad plates removed, request additional silverware and water. Should have walked out when we contemplated 20 mins in having no service and saved ourselves $350!

Delicious cuisine and friendly, attentive service.
We (2 couples) enjoyed the well priced local wines. The crispy Brussels sprouts were spot on (nice addition of local hazelnuts) and the steamed clams were Heaven! I selected pesto prawn fettuccine and it was well executed. The addition of arugula to the pesto was a nice, peppery touch. My spouse ordered the burger and it was cooked to perfection. I'd say a traditional French fry would be preferred over truffle fries. It's a personal opinion thing, but truffle oil is sort of overused. Our friends ordered the lamb chops, which I didn't try. ;-) We unfortunately didn't save room for desert.
Overall, a pleasant surprise for a touristy area. I'd definitely return!

Been a couple times, manager is very nice a great guy, seemingly staff is great as well. Just the food needs to be dialed in for some dishes. Over seasoned, some dishes seem out of season. For the cost it should be a little more exact. Overall nice please to be.

Great service. Very friendly staff. Food was delicious. Menu could have had more choices. Very highly recommended
Service and food are always excellent. Since we moved to Dundee, this has become my favorite restaurant.
We each ordered a wedge salad and it was watery with weak blue cheese. I've never had a bad dish at this restaurant in years so they must have a new chef because I always loved stopping there. The older man waiter was odd. Hard to explain in an email. foccacia was average. Total disappointment. I've been going there since the grand opening. M White
The atmosphere is refined yet approachable, the service prompt and cheerful, and the food exquisite.
