Don’t be surprised that the food, service and dining room are Phenomenal at Big Horns… Daily Specials are the better priced than cooking at home and taste scrumptious! Big Horns is BIG AWESOME!
You are ALWAYS immediately welcomed by a smiling face when you walk in the door at Big Horns. You have an idea that the food is good by the first glimpse into the front counter, when you see their plate sized homemade Cinnamon Rolls enticing you. There are daily specials, today (Aug 24, 2025) was 2Porkchops, 2eggs, and hash-browns for $12.99. WHERE can you get good prices like that in your town??
The smell of the food cooking was phenomenal. The porkchops were unbelievably tender, with no need for any additional seasoning, they were scrumptious. Eggs were cooked perfectly sunnyside up. We could eat this every day and it would never get old. If you’re hungry, come in early and enjoy— remind yourself 2pm is closing time, unless you come Friday and Saturday and its 8pm. Big Horns will leave your tummy satisfied, but it’s also just a really comfortable spot to take a break and slow down in this small town called Elgin, Oregon. I got married in January, and Big Horns was the place my husband and I chose for our first married meal together. The people here just make you feel like family ❤️

First of all, congratulations on all the work you've obviously put in to operationally revitalize a place that was in dire need of just that. As a former owner/manager of over 20 family restaurants, I know the effort and the results when I see it.
I do think you need to pay more attention to what's happening, and happening consistently at breakfast. Your morning cook has no clue how to cook eggs, and I have offered numerous times to teach her how to use egg pans. No takers. The pictures show the kind of product you're putting out.
I ask for 'over easy.' (Yolks should be runny and whites should be lightly set) The eggs on the white plate were what I got the other day and sent back. The pictures on the red plate show the ones that they brought to replace the originals. Seriously?? At that point I gave up and shut up.
I've run a restaurant that cooked 180 dozen eggs on day shift alone - all in egg pans, so I know what I'm talking about. Having been in several times for dinner, I'm positive this is not the sort of product you want to consistently bear your name.

The food here is wonderful, they know how to make a good breakfast.
Great food, great service, and good prices. One of the best places to eat in the area. We drive from LeaGrande to Elgin. Had Valentine’s Day there, it was one of the best meals ever. Never had bad experience there.

One of the most affordable places for decent breakfast food around. Recently under new ownership, I always stop here when I'm driving thru town.

Passing through on a motorcycle trip this morning and stopped by Big Horns of Elgin. Gotta be one of THE Best breakfasts that I have had in my life. EVERYTHING was great. Great bacon, great hash browns, great eggs and the sourdough toast was awesome! Hot Chocolate - the best I've had. The service was warm and inviting, super friendly and fun. I love this place. I may have to move to Elgin! Keep up the good work and I will see you again!

Went and had breakfast with my wife and son. The cook was yelling at the waitress and cursing. Loud enough that the whole restaurant could hear. Messaged the owners and got no response. Highly don’t recommend.
We were pleasantly surprised at how good our meals were and had great service! The portions were huge and the price was very reasonable. The rolls tasted like homemade and smelled amazing!
