Friday we enjoyed Rib Eye and seafood including some of the best homemade clam chowder I have ever had……. ANYPLACE. I will make the drive from North Powder again for sure.

This was a nice casual place to have our breakfast. Good portions. We had to wait awhile for our meal - it sounded like the cook was fairly new because we heard waitresses giving them instructions. Overall good food though..

This goes by a different name now, but I can't recall what it is. The service was good. With the Eagle Cap Extrusion Train leaving that morning it was very busy, so service was understandably a little slow. The staff were very friendly and were really doing their best to get everyone sorted. Our order was exactly as we ordered.

The place itself is clean with a traditional bar and grill type vibe.

If you get hash browns, add the sausage gravy. It turns average into amazing. The ham is legit. I had a ham slice with my breakfast and my wife had ham in her omelette. So good. The prices are good for the quantity of food.

If you are taking the train trip give yourself more time to eat here since it is the main diner in town. If you are visiting for some other reason, but the train is running that day, be prepared for longer waits for your food and crowded tables.

I took into account that they were busy. So waiting over an hour to get our food I would have let slide, however, when the food is served cold and the waitress just looks at it and says sorry about that. I just brought it out."
First of all the order was incorrect. The cooks had put hashbrowns on the plates .
We both ordered pancakes. A second waitress had taken one of the pancakes and breakfast sandwich to the table behind us. Our waitress was telling the cooks she stillneeded 2 hot cakes. They in return told our waitress they were up there. Both waitress told them that she had taken it by mistake. Cooks still argue with ours. Finally I guess they understand but in the meantime the food that was up there had been sitting there like 5 minutes. She bri g it to our table and leaves. The eggs were not only cold but overcooked. The hotcakes was so hard even cutting with a knife was difficult. 5 minutes later she brings other pancake. And then ask if everything was OK. I told her no, our food is cold . REALLY, I just brought it out. I said no, you didn't, you argued with the cooks first , it's cold" .I picked up my eggs with my hands to show her. ALL She said was "I'm sorry, would you like me to get someone to talk to you?" I Said no. Figured what good would it do.
She then went back to the cooks and told them, "The angry old ladies say the food was cold." The cook loudly says" Bullshit I just took it off the grill!" Then steps out 9f the kitchen and glares at me!
To top it off we had to wait an additional 10 minutes for the breakfast sandwich.
We took the meat for my dog. But the rest of the food, other than a couple of bites were left uneaten.
Then to add insult to Injury, she apologized to the table behind us for the mixup!
Really! How did it affect them, they got there food correct and hot.
Leaving she never apologized. When we asked for a receipt she said, " It'll take a while for me to print one, I can write o e up for you in a few minutes" We left without one.
We arrived at the restaurant at 9:45 left at 11:30.

Went to breakfast here, sat and waited 45 minutes for service. No coffee or water brought to the table, no acknowledgment of any kind. Family and I went to leave and the waitress harassed us for doing so. Much better places to eat in nearby towns, keep driving.

Food was decent. Ordered a juicy Lucy burger and they didn’t have ingredients to make it so got a bacon cheeseburger instead. Cook was yelling from the back at waitress about my burger. Fries had no seasoning at all but were ok. Asked waitress about my fries I ordered when she brought my burger and she was snotty about it. Was snotty when we asked nicely for ketchup. Other waitress refilled my daughter’s water, but rest of us got no refills offered. Got no pickles with my burger and husband got no cheese on his as he was supposed to. The blonde waitress was not pleasant. Other one was very friendly and helpful. Didn’t even get our check until went to pay and other waitress had to go and get it.

Great friendly service. Large portions with reasonable prices. Recommend getting the gravy on the hash browns. Good traditional food. Giant cinnamon rolls. Cake (pancake) is plate size and cooked well.
