This is our go-to place after a long bike ride on the Banks Vernonia trail. Chicken is always juicy and tender, and the guns are always crispy and delicious. I tried the flank steak this time, and it was cooked perfectly 👌 If you haven't stopped in for some good grub, then you're missing out.
We sat outside because it was a nice day and it was great. The inside has a super cute bar. The food was great and quite nicely thought out. They must have a great chef with healthy and fresh ideas. Staff is also super nice.
Chicken & Guns you’ve done it Again!
Tacos & wings were excellent today!
Wonderful way to start a Mother's Day!
As a family We have discussed going to Chicken and guns, multiple times, but never seem to get the coordination with all of our members down. Went here over the weekend for the first time expecting something more than what we got per the reviews. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Has a good feel about it however, the service and the food along with cleanliness was absolutely disappointing. we came in and picked up two menus asbdirected and selected a table.! looked at the menus, and they were filthy to say the least; one menu was unreadable due to the print being worn off, the other menu had bits and pieces of somebody’s meal stuck to it. Thinking this was probably just after a rush as we were there around 2 PM. We went ahead and ordered . We had the brussels sprouts which were supposed to have garlic, but there was no garlic and they would have done with about two more minutes of cooking, they were exceptionally woody. My husband ordered three tacos which he said were uhmmm. he said that the pork belly was the best and most flavorful. I had the chicken salad sandwich . There was had some chicken salad, but was the sandwich really honestly was mainly salad greens, and pickled onions along with two huge pieces of Texas toast that overwhelmed the taste and flavor of any piece or part of the chicken. The chicken in itself had no smokey flavor and that was disappointing. I ordered the guns which were the chunks of russet potatoes and they were just OK, it would’ve been nice to have a better dipping sauce experience than the cilantro type dressing they provided. We had to scrounge up some salt and pepper. We had to look for extra napkins. The waitress did not check in on us and when my husband got up to use the bathroom, he came back fairly disgusted and just wanted to leave as he said. It was disgustingly dirty and had a strong odor of urine. I suppose if you’re visiting on a sunday afternoon you would likely expect things to be more sanitary and that your feet would not stick to the floor. All in all it was not the experience we hoped to have. I can see that maybe on the weekend evenings, this is a hopping place and people probably enjoy themselves greatly, but I was expecting more flavor from the food and maybe just a little bit more customer service, especially since there was not a lot of other people enjoy enjoying the dining experience.
The Peruvian steak and rice is just freaking excellent. Yes, the wings and guns are all great too, but everything on this menu must be tried
The chicken was so good I forgot to take a picture.
Soooo yummy, one of the best places I’ve been on the coast. Service was kind and fast, food was incredible, vibes were immaculate. 💕
Thursday prime rib! I go here a lot and you should too.

On the beaten path in the middle of nowhere, but definitely worth the stop! Excellent creative sides which are enhanced by the homemade sauces. Michelin would never stop in Gales Creek, Oregon, but it they did, they'd leave a star there!

Horrible experience, unfortunately.
First… We were excited to try this place. Obviously, looking at the restaurant on the outside and inside, it was built with intent and love…. And virtually in the middle of nowhere.
We unfortunately waited in line for a very long time. Once we finally got to the counter, they were out of their flagship chicken and guns.
It literally took us nearly 1.5 hours to get our sandwiches. Our food was sitting up on the warming counter area of the kitchen for literally around 20 or more minutes as they tried to figure out how to complete our order …. which I think was the steak bites.
Finally, the food came after we inquired. Obviously it was not hot. My prime rib sandwich was extremely salty. There was no apology or empathy is seemed
I spoke with the gentleman that I assume was a manager/owner. Their frustration I could tell was present. Unfortunately, a person or more did not show up for work leading to the poor experience we had as well I’m sure increased stress and chaos for their team.
My strong suggestion would be a sign at the entrance to highlight what products they are out of currently, and if they are short staffed or other insights that could help us decide if we want to eat at this restaurant on this occasion. If we would’ve known that they were out of guns and chicken AND short staffed like they were, we never would’ve chose to try this restaurant this time, I feel it’s managements responsibility to try best they can in this difficult employee environment to keep the restaurant staffed with the great team (even in this rather remote location), continuously try to help coach/train employees on good customer service, and to go ahead and to relay honestly to their clients the challenges they are facing at that moment in time. Never would I have tipped for this experience but unfortunately you place your order and pay/tip before you sit down let alone get your food.
Unfortunately we likely will not be back now.

We were so excited to check out Chicken and Guns tonight, but left very disappointed. When we made it up to the counter to order, we were told that they were out of all things chicken, "guns", brussle sprouts and a couple of other items. We ended up ordering a prime rib sandwhich, salad and 2 tacos.
Almost an hour went by with no sign of our food. When I went to the counter to ask about it, it appeard that the items had been sitting there for quite some time. The food was promptly brought over, but was only luke warm. We were not impressed.
The servers that were there were friendly and working hard, although it appeard they were short staffed. I wish that we had a better experience with the food, not sure that we will be back.
