The tasting menu was thoughtful and delicious!
Every single course was delightful.
I loved it so much I went back the following week.
This is the closest thing I have found to a Michelin star in Oregon and I’ve been to at least 30 around the globe.

Pacific Way has been a staple in the gearhart community for 30 years. There is a sign on the front door that says "Pacific Way will be CLOSED INDEFINITELY." 😢 😭

It’s heartbreaking to say, this was my first and only opportunity to eat here as they are closing after tonight. They have the best crab cakes we’ve ever had! Also, great carrots, focaccia bread and oil, and halibut! 🥰 best wishes to the chef and staff!

Visiting the Oregon coast and was lucky to find this place - it’s a gem! Some of the best food my husband & I have had in a long time - specifically, the crab bisque and the salmon entree. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was lovely - perfect lighting & music. Great for conversation. This restaurant is a winner!

The owner made a point to tell us the dishes were big enough to be shared yet the salad was tiny and the paella was the smallest I've ever seen for an exorbitant price. When it was the previous owners this place was amazing but I would skip it unless you money is no issue for you.

I was so looking forward to returning to The Pacific Way (formerly Pacific Way Cafe) after many years away. But we were sadly disappointed in both the service and food. The dishes were either under or over seasoned, and given the prices, this is unacceptable. My Paella had almost no flavor to the rice (except the metal of the pan it was served in), and while the seafood was ok, it wasn’t anything to write home about. When we arrived, the table to our right got up and left after waiting 40 minutes for even a glass of water. We were served after 30 minutes, and the food came out quickly once our orders were taken. The owner did give us free desserts for having to wait. But even the desserts were either bland (cheesecake) or had too much going on (ganache). For the prices here, and the gourmet vibe they are going for, we were disappointed. We decided to not come back, until we talked to another table and they were enjoying their food very much. Perhaps we will give it another go in a year. In the meantime, to the owners, please take your service up a notch, and work on the consistency of your menu.

This is honestly a very unique and amazing restaurant. The food was spectacular and the chef himself brought many dishes to us and made it an even more special experience. If in Gearhart area, don't miss dining here.

It was our 20th anniversary and they went above and beyond our expectations for us! We had the Chef Trevor's tasting menu and every dish was outstanding from the homemade focacia with sesame oil, stone fruit and tomato salad, scallop sishimi, crab and shrimp cakes with red cabbage, salmon belly and Madeline's with berries for dessert. All were beautifully presented and full of great flavors. Best restaurant in the area.

We ordered the halibut and the salmon. Both were a little overcooked, and we actually discussed this with the servers before ordering. The salmon plate was covered in vegetables, and actually hid the special qualities of the salmon. It was more like a stir fry than a nice plate. The halibut was listed as "slow-roasted" but it came out at the same time as the salmon. The chef is talented but it just needs a little more care in preparation and presentation.

The worst dining experience ever.

I wasn't able to reserve a dinner at Stephanie Inn so decided to search for other fine dining experiences around. The Pacific Way came out as one of the options with a lot of 5-star reviews. My family and I came in very enthusiastic and decided to try their 12-course chef tasting "Epic" menu. Two of us decided to pair it with the wine flight. There wasn't many other people in the restaurant at that time, so we hoped for fast service... Boy were we wrong. Those 12 courses in the menu are grouped into groups, like 3 different salads, or 2 desserts. Given that they are all served "for share" in small portions, I expected them to be delivered in groups. Hell no, they all were delivered one-by-one with 15-20 minutes between them. We spent the first 2 hours hungry there until we finally reached the main courses. We spent whole 3!!! hours there, most of the time waiting for the next course with a ruined mood. Besides being slow, the service was just terrible: they often brought the wine after we were done with the course it was supposed to be paired with; one of the wine courses was just skipped completely and brought together with the dessert (apology? What apology?); they brough a course (remember, all dishes are for share) without bringing individual plates, so we had to pass that dish plate along the table eating from it one by one. Or no silverware for another course. So much of "fine dining". The food was mostly good, but desserts were disappointing. And in the end, when it was clear that it was a 0 tip service, they had an audacity to slap us with 22% service fee since we had a "large" group of 5. We had just one evening in the area, and they ruined it completely; they stole our evening (I was sure I would catch the sunset since it was more than 2.5 hours later than our reservation time), they ruined our mood with the terrible service, and they didn't have any regret nor apologized for that. I'd better went to McDonalds. Avoid at all costs. Not worth even a single star.
