Wanted to like this place, maybe we come on an off day salmon salad was a major miss served on an ice cold plate and partner got a flavourless steak. Spotify commercials were playing for the ambiance.

The most disappointed I've been in SEVERAL years going out to eat. In fact, I had to let my anger simmer for five days before writing this review. This dining experience, to be quite frank, has affected my life, wallet, and honestly lowered my expectations for any restaurant to follow in the future.
I took two close friends and my wife and daughter to the coast this last weekend. Let me start by saying people come to me when they need a good food suggestion. Naturally, if I haven't been to an establishment, I refer to 'best of' lists. And when Oshen's was on a 'best of' list for food on Hwy 101, I went out of my way to take us there.
Big mistake. I don't even know where to begin, for I have things to accomplish today, but the whole thing was a mess. Upon arriving, the window markets the restaurant as a delicatessen. From what I gather from Facebook, this place rebranded a month or two ago. Do they still sell steaks like the 'best of' list suggests? With contradicting menus everywhere online; I cannot answer. But the SINGLE item my daughter would eat that we saw on the online menu, the chicken sandwich, was no longer available because the server said; "we are rebranding and no longer carry the chicken sandwich".
Look. I'm already tired of talking and thinking about this whole damn situation. From the flies, to coming out fifteen minutes after we place our order to let us know the sausage sandwich I ordered was 'out of stock', it was just not a good experience. On top of that, my visiting friend got his sandwich NINE minutes before the rest of us got our meals. Do you know how many fly turds probably got on my friend's sandwich as he patiently waited for our food to arrive. I guess the chowder was serviceable. At best.
By the way, the meat is Olympia Provisions, which you can find anywhere in the area. And also, the chef was yelling for the server to get her plates out faster. Awkward.
Place is a joke. Probably should have expected this from a place that can't even spell 'Oceans' correctly.
So now I question every single 'best of' list AND look like a moron for taking everyone here. To cap it all off, by the way, the server said; "I took the sandwich off the bill".
And that she did. The sandwich that I never. Thanks?

This restaurant started out over a year ago with a bang and now feels like a whimper. Our online reservation for 4 didn't show up on their end so the 4 of us decided to wait after the owner/manager Bob said the wait would be about 20 minutes. Those 20 turned into an hour and we left after having drinks in the deli/waiting area while couples with no reservations were seated. We are locals, eat out often and can't recommend a restaurant that treats anyone like this. Sorry we won't be back to try try again!
Pretty bad sandwich considering the price ($18). Bread was stale and hard and the sandwich itself was very dry without enough condiments. Very slow service too. Gave two stars because the meats were good quality.

Absolutely incredible meal. The Caesar salad may be the best I’ve ever had. Service was wonderful and the woman playing guitar and signing made the night a 5 star experience! Bravo!

Such a neat place. We went to the Oshens chop house by invitations of the owners. Food was great!! They served my cocktail in a smoke box...when they open the box this smoke trickled out and it was so cool. Service was great! Atmospher was welcoming. OH and they had a live singer...she was amazing. Diffently will be back!

First, don't trust the online menu to be accurate. We went for happy hour and nothing resembled the menu we had studied ahead of time. We (4 top) were one of two tables in the dining area. The service was unbelievably slow and inattentive. I kept having to wave to get our waiter's attention throughout the course of 1 1/2 hours. I asked the wine steward where the restroom was .. he gestured with his hand "back there ,, but I haven't had the chance to clean it yet." What I found was appalling .. toilet seat stained, toilet paper holder empty and trash overflowing the container. If management can't do something as simple as keeping the bathroom clean, it can't help but make me wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen and food prep areas.
To sum it up in 4 words: we won't be back!!

Hi there. It seems I didn’t get my credit card back from our server, Elisa, last night and your phone number isn’t set up for voicemail and you guys don’t have email. You guys are closed today and tomorrow and I happen to leave tomorrow. Please drop the card off at the Salishan front desk for pickup at your earliest convenience. Thanks!
Wow. Amazed at the atmosphere for a small local restaurant near the Shalihan golf course south of Lincoln City. The sommelier was a little over the top but presented an excellent Secret Squirrel CS. Also had a bottle of Willamette Chard. Halibut fish and chips was a large helping and nicely breaded. Excellent price. Clam chowder was almost all clams. Very good. James, our waiter entertained us with stories and kept up with our appetizers, soups and main courses. Will be back❤️

I spent $220 for the tomahawk. It was my birthday celebration and although I would not normally spend this amount for a ribeye steak, it was a special day and I figured what the heck.
First, our waitress informed us that the soup of the day was out. No problem. So we went to order an appetizer, the calamari, only to be told it was out as well. When my mom ordered the filet, she was informed that the 100 layer potato was out as well, and the substitute was mashed potatoes.
So when I ordered my, again, $220, tomahawk steak, I already knew the potatoes were out but I wanted a good steak. It was advertised to come with "Bacon Fat Sauteed Brussel Sprouts" which sounded great as I am a big fan. Imagine my disappointment when my dish arrived, and buried under a layer of steak and mashed potatoes was broccoli (possibly brauciflower) and asparagus. When asked, yes, they were out of the brussel sprouts as well. As though a 7 minute drive to Chesters would be too difficult for them to replenish their brussel sprout reserve??
As for the tomahawk, not going to complain, it was good. I ordered medium rare, but there was a well done portion, and a medium rare portion and a SUPER rare portion. 56 ounces for $220 and maybe 1/3 of it was how I ordered. Great flavor so at least I enjoyed it.
The wine menu is VERY lacking. It was amazing to have a small wine tasting but the pinot noir we tasted wasn't even on the menu? There was 1 cabernet sauvignon on the menu that retail is $25, not much else to compliment this, did I say, $220 tomahawk????
It's one of those places that i'm happy I went to, it was an okay experience, but I will never go back to again.

Seven of us arrived on a challenging night for them in that one employee called in sick and another inflicted a serious cut on his hand effectively reducing their waitstaff by 50%. Kudos the staff member that went to the doctor to get his wound treated and returned to finish off the night!
That said, they were very gracious and the female vocalist / guitarist had a lovely and soothing voice so the extended wait was not tedious. Menu was a bit limited but sufficient. Steaks, rockfish, and vegetarian pasta were all well prepared and delicious. The ambience was low key, nice, nothing special. I feel like they did quite well under the circumstances but given all the choices in the area, I'm not sure I would return.

We’ve eaten here a few times now, and it never disappoints. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the prices are reasonable. This morning my husband had the Full Monty breakfast, which was huge and very satisfying. I had the avocado toast which was extremely generous and very uniquely delicious. The food is not your average fare, and always has some unique twist. James always takes great care of us, and Jay is a great new addition to the staff as well. Great neighborhood spot!

Took almost an 75 minutes for dinner to be served on a relatively slow evening. Zero communication. Desert was comped, but was never delivered. Not a great experience
