My friend and I went to the Laughing Clam on Nov. 8, 2024. I felt rushed as soon as i was seated. I explained to the waitress that my friend would be there in a few minutes. She was running about five minutes late. Then, the waitress never came back. She made us flag her down to take our drink order. She took my friends order for her drink and turned around to leave. I had to stop her and tell her I'd like to order a drink too. She had an attitude, like she hated her job. My friend had a beer and I had a margarita, which was horrible. It tasted like water mixed with tequila. Once our food came, it was delivered by the bartender, which he just put it down and walked away. Both our dinners were overcooked and literally taste horrible. We only took a few bites and couldn't stomach anymore. I had 2 sips from my cocktail and left the whole drink sitting there. I did not realize she did not like her meal either. Not until we got outside, and I told her I felt the same. We definitely will not be back.

This was a fun place with great food and many options for beer or spirits. Loved the upscale dive bar feel and very fast and friendly staff with reasonable prices

This used to be one of my favorite spots in town. I hadn’t eaten here in a few years, so my wife and I decided to stop by for drinks and dinner. It was a lovely fall evening, so we chose to sit outside.
The first thing we noticed was that the chairs were uncomfortable and awkward. It wasn’t a huge issue, but it made us want to leave sooner rather than stay for another drink and enjoy the evening.
Our server was mediocre. She wasn’t particularly friendly, the service was slow, and she never checked in to see if we liked the food or needed anything else.
Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. I ordered the steamer clams as an appetizer. They were passable, but something about the taste seemed off, and several clams were empty. For our main course, I had the fish and chips, while my wife got the buffalo chicken sandwich.
The fish was just okay—there was way too much batter, and the coating fell off as soon as I picked it up. They also placed the fish directly on top of the fries, which made them soggy instead of crispy. My wife’s sandwich tasted good, but the chicken was very dry.
Overall, it wasn’t the best experience and didn’t live up to the way I remembered this place from a few years ago.

Omg, SOOOOOOOO good! I had the shrimp po boy ($14.99) and it was so big I had to smash it down to get my mouth around it. The clam chowder bowl was phenomenal ($12.95). The bowl was crispy and chewy and perfect and the chowder absolutely on point. The clam strips were amazing too ($14.99) and a it was also a large portion I loved the trio of dipping sauces it came with We also had oyster shooters which were perfect (3.99). The food, prices and portions were very impressive. Chase our server was friendly, fun and thorough. I would highly recommend eating here. The parking is a bit tricky. We had to park at Saint Vincents and walk.

3 is generous, to be honest. Would not recommend, would not go back
They do good seafood, but that's about it. They charge 25 for a fettuccine that looks like soup, because there's so much sauce in it.
Fries were past cold, they were room temperature. Our waiter was busy but quite nice

Fish and chips were amazing 👏 I chatted with the owner, who was bartending, and she was very nice and recommended hot springs to visit. Very cute atmosphere, divey but not dirty.

I inhaled my first fish taco and added a second! Service is fantastic. Trying a golden stout today after sampling. Everything came out quick. The HH is grea, made this stop super affordable. I'll be back!

This will always be a favorite spot for my husband and I. The atmosphere is cozy yet trendy, and you feel like you're in a building that has a lot of history (because it does). The service is always exceptional with friendly, helpful staff, as is the amazing food. Everything on the menu always looks so good, but I always end up getting my favorite: the spicy calamari. This time, I added a lavender lemon drop cocktail, which was exceptional, and my hubby had a burger with bleau cheese on it, which he loved!

Ordered a mushroom burger with no onions... came open faced with sautéed onions on top. Was ignored by the waitress for about 10 minutes. Brought me a check and offered a to-go box for the untouched burger, never asking if it was OK or if there was a problem. Her attitude was terrible. She made me feel like I was unwelcome from the minute I sat down.
Terrible first time experience. I got the message loud and clear. I'm not welcome at The Laughing Clam.
