Friendly service, drinks and food served promptly, drinks are delicious. Something has changed recently with their breakfast sandwich making. They're thrown together with ingredients piled in the middle leaving the majority of the bread hard and dry. It hasn't always been this way but the last two sandwiches within the recent months have been a bit disappointing. I'll still come for the coffees and support the local business.

Horrible customer service. All started nice when I put in my order. They were a little busy, but there was never a line. I ordered two drinks and a toasted bagel. The first bagel took 15 minutes to come out, which is fine as they were a little busy. When I got it however, it was black and rock hard. Completely inedible. I was surprised it was actually served. So I politely gave it back to the cashier, let her know it was burnt and asked for another. She instantly seemed incredibly annoyed. She just said "ok", turned around and slammed it in the trash. Not another word. 20 minutes later and still no bagel, I went back up to the counter to inquire and noticed that my bagel remake was at the end of the queue of other sandwiches to be made. I told them I had been waiting over 30 minutes already and was with my 2 year old daughter who was beginning to cry. The other staff were apologetic and said it would be right out. The angry barista immediately started toasting it and 2 minutes later she calls "tasted bagel and cream cheese" and instantly spun around. No apology or acknowledgment of any kind. All other orders had their names called. When I left I told her coworkers that they needed to work on improving their customer service. I have never had treatment of this kind at a coffee shop ever. I will not be returning.

Great lil place with decently priced coffee. I had a coffee shake or something like that and it was amazing. Great place to chillax and talk.

The Portland classic. Thirty years ago, in the time before the green empire wrenched control of the coffee world from the independent coffee houses there was Coffee People. Higher quality, more creative with a distinct Portland vibe it was the iconic third space until it succumbed to the corporate powers from Seattle. For years a remnant of the chain remained at the Portland Airport, but in time even that disappeared. Fast forward a decade or so... Jim and Patty, the founders of Coffee People reopened under the new moniker "Jim and Patty's Coffee People". The old favorites return: Velvet Hammer, Carmel Fudge Mocha and Tiger Coffee... and a few new additions - the Pig Newton and Patty Cake among others. The vibe remains, the anti big coffee sentiment lingers and the certainty of "Good coffee, no back talk" perseveres.

Coffee is good. I have only had the bagel egg and cheese and it’s always excellent. Service is quick with plenty of self seating.

Jim & Patty's never disappoints. Look up the history of Jim & Patty's and you'll appreciate some PNW coffee history. Pig Newtons are like kolaches so they're great. A lot of creative lattes on the menu. We're here once or twice a month. Should have a higher rating than 3 stars

I needed a coffee, stat and this cute corner shop seemed perfect. The barista behind the counter explained the menu simply, since it was my first time in. I ordered a non-fat salted butter caramel latte (with two extra shots) and a (full fat) goat cheese breakfast sammie. During the few minutes it took to complete my order, I wandered the seating area. It was empty today (noon on a Sunday) but I can imagine this being a great hang out with friends or sit on the patio in nicer weather. The drink was up first, served with a chocolate covered bean (yay!). Very tasty drink and just what I needed. Then the goat cheese, bacon, caramelized onion, egg on a biscuit sandwich arrived. Just what I wanted. At first bite, I thought I'd just eat half the sandwich because it's substantial. However, the whole thing was gone before I knew it. I can't wait to come back. Maybe for a more toned down coffee. Everything looks so appetizing when you walk in, it'll be hard to have any self control.

I have now been 2 different times and they have messed up my order each time. I always ask for an egg, sausage biscuit. Both times I was given bacon and not sausage and the time that just now happened, I didn't check it until I got home so I cannot exchange it. It's some major incompetence on the staff. If you want a breakfast sandwich, go somewhere else.

J&P's is a nice "mom and pop" spot to grab some coffee, a sandwich, or a pastry. Nice selection of drinks and pastries. I like that they make your sandwich fresh while you wait. Indoor & outdoor seating available. Most of their drink names are unique and don't really give you an idea of ingredients, ask for a paper menu and it has them broken down.
