The servers were friendly. They got us seated quite quickly. I got the shrimp sandwich and it has very tiny shrimp with thick coating. I didn’t really like it and I didn’t finish it. Oyster is very fresh though! Chowder is okay (but not recommended) The environment was great with a lot of cool painting. You can’t really get a good view of the shore at the restaurant though, so I think the pics are a bit misleading.

Were seated quickly. All the staff was working efficiently and the place was buzzing with patrons. Though it was busy, we were greeted quickly by our server and able to order our drinks. I then ordered an Oyster Shooter, and we gave our waitress our dinner order. The Oyster shooter was delivered after a short wait, it was a large oyster, which typically I prefer small or mediums, however, this large surprised me with how fresh it tasted! The cocktail sauce it was in was also the perfect amount of spice! My son's dinner salad arrived shortly after and was a beautiful green mix, with cucumbers and cherry tomatoes. All was crisp and fresh. Dinner was served. My daughter ordered Fish and Chips, it was AMAZING! My son ordered a whole crab, it was HUGE! and I ordered the fish tacos, they were DELICIOUS!

Very busy, but with spring break we expected it. Had to wait for 30 minutes. Bloody Mary and clam chowder excellent. We ordered clam strips, deep fried oysters, fish and chips and kids chicken strips. Oysters and clam strips mostly breading, chicken strips were good, but the best meal was fish and chips, cod had to pay extra to get cod,but we'll worth it.The staff were amazing, they were swamped but they did a fabulous job.

I have been here on multiple occasions, and there are a few gems as far as customers' service goes, and the food (especially fresh caught) is worth enjoying.Usually, in the evening we are either waited on Christina or Mariah. Both wonderful! Sometimes we even go for lunch on the weekends and our bartender Taylor is always great. Occasionally we go on the week days and Emily servers us, also wonderful. If you're in the area, you should give it a try, best seafood in Brookings!

Everything was amazing. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was comfortable. They were playing good music. I had paid for clam chowder at a different establishment the night before and it was horrible. Catalyst made up for that with some delicious Clam Chowder. I also had the flash fried calamari that was great and the Fettuccine Alfredo with Crab that was mouth watering! Thank you so much!

We were out of town visiting and counted on Yelp to help us find a dinner spot. We're happy we chose this place. The portions are very generous, the service was friendly and prompt and the environment is welcoming. It was a busy night but we walked in and got a table for 4 with no wait. It was a tad noisy when we got there, it was clear an early bird crowd was there before us. It was surprisingly not super loud considering hard floors, walls and chairs. It was never hard to hear each other. Everyone was friendly and prompt. Very helpful with our requests and filling waters. We didn't have to wait any time at all to place our order once we were ready and I got a good tip on what to order from our server. Truthfully my only negative about the service is that I hate to be asked if I want dessert in the middle of my entree. Especially twice. Maybe it is just me since it happens a lot of places, but please consider not asking me until we are at least done with our main course. The food was very good. Generous in size and in the key ingredient, crab. We all felt like we had enough food to enjoy our own meals, share bites with each other, and some came home in a to go box. It is crab season, which thrilled us all since we all love crab and wanted to make sure we enjoyed it in some way with our meals. I had the crab tacos with jalapeño slaw, lemon zest aioli and a $2 up charge of mango salsa. I like things pretty spicy and these were not spicy But for folks who don't like spice so much, these would be perfect. There were plenty of hot sauce choices on the table. The flavors mixed so well together! In each taco there was plenty of huge chunks of crab meat and a nice mix of sweet cool mango and crunchy kicky slaw. They came on taco sized corn tortillas. My wife had the fettuccine Alfredo with crab and a side salad. Again, the crab was very generous. As Alfredos go it was pretty standard, but it was cooked perfectly and piping hot with plenty of parmesan dusted on top. The bread on the side was soft and toasty at the same time. Our friends had the rockfish and crab cakes. The rockfish was cooked perfectly, so it was buttery but not tough, with three good sized pieces. She had a side salad and a side of crab for a $6 up charge. The crab cakes at first seemed lacking but when we tasted them we realized that they were all crab. Not a bunch of filler, just crab. They were very tasty. She had a side salad too, and a side of fries. Good thing it was generous, they looked so good we all dug in! They were the kind that are battered and crispy, not burnt or mushy. Really nice seasoning too. In all none of us were disappointed with our meals and we are already talking about going back for lunch tomorrow to eat crab in different ways. Whether this trip or another, crab season or not, we will be back.

I got the surf and turf. I was a little nervous about getting a steak at a seafood restaurant but it was pretty good. The shrimp was amazing and so were the veggies. My bf got the crab roll and it's to die for!

I ordered the Shrimp Po’Boy and had them upgrade the shrimp to battered prawns! Let me tell you, It was DELICIOUS!!! The jalapeños slaw was great, not too spicy, the aïoli perfect amount of lemon. Finally the shrimp were perfectly battered and not over cooked. By far my favorite! Will definitely order this item again!

Well the Catalyst restaurant has changed staff many times in the past 2 month. The prices here at Catalyst are getting too expensive for us. A lemon drop martini with premium alcohol was $26 - $2 for happy hour = $24. Are you serious!! Burger was $16. We are now going to the restaurant "Black Trumpet" for steak and lobster or "Sprezzatura" for Italian at better prices and better atmosphere..

Horrible service and mediocre food. Takes forever to get your drinks and you can forget about a refill. The bartender chick cares more about chit chatting with people at the bar than actually doing her job. Food is portioned small and you will still be hungry after you're done.
