Nice, clean spot to eat. Friendly staff, quick service. Big portions.Had the chicken fried steak special. Crust on the outside was delicious and crispy. Real mashed potatoes, and the clam chowder is chunky, creamy, and delicious!
The prime rib and chicken fried steak were both delicious. The food came in a reasonable amount of time and the prices were better than most chain restaurants. We would come back for sure.(The waitress was very friendly and informative as well)

I've eaten here probably 5 times in the last couple years, at least once everytime I go to John Day (usually on motorcycle trips). Food is usually good and prices reasonable. Service is generally good, albeit a bit slow, but this last time, it was just plain BAD. It took over 30 minutes to get menus and another 20 for water and to take our order. The place was full, but not packed (there was no wait for a table). I wanted to order the special, but 50 minutes after being seated,...
