We are visiting OR and a local suggested we stop by Cheyenne Cafe for a quick lunch. Oh my goodness, we were all blown away by how delicious & plentiful the dishes were, the staff were delightful, and our kids were kindly welcomed. Highly recommend the giant cinnamon roll & chicken fried steak, but everything was great!

Food was fantastic. And there was a lot of it. They aren't wrong when they tell you if you leave hungry, it's you're own fault. Definitely try them out. You won't regret it.

Value. The main take away here is the tremendous value. I had an amazing chicken fried steak with all the usual accompaniments for $16! I would have happily paid $10 more for a meal of this size and quality. Very large tender steak with a crispy breading covered in plenty of flavorful gravy, a mountain of hash browns and a fluffy biscuit served with eggs cooked just right. Little things that stand out are the seasoning of the gravy which has a slight tint to it rather than the ordinary white gravy that usually come with this dish. I don't know what they season it with but it adds a lot of depth and maybe a little smokiness that is very pleasant. The biscuit is very fluffy rather than flakey which I'm not sure I prefer in general but here it was working quite nicely to mop up all the extra gravy and egg yoke. I don't know how they can afford to make this delicious meal at this price but hey, I'm not complaining. I will be back every time I visit Joseph.

Update September ‘25: still great. Even when they’re slammed, and understaffed, great food and good vibes.

Real simple, really good breakfast.
