Slack Review 01/30/2026 Becky and I dined at Slack Drinks and Dining in Joseph tonight. Slacks Ribeye Steak dinner was so good, we thought we should try their Friday Night Prime Rib Special. Seating was available at a 4 top. We both chose the Friday Night Special, 10oz cut MR, Salad, Grilled Yellow Corn and Garlic Toast Salads were cold and fresh, waitress was timely, serving the dinner after we finished our Salad Our 10oz Rib portions were generous, medium rare, Smoked to perfection. The Grilled Yellow Corn charred and sweet. Garlic Toast made a tasty backstop for the Corn. Wait staff was attentive, thank you. Good friends joined us after dinner for some laugh’s. Thank you Slack for another wonderful dinner.

Server was not friendly at all ,she acted as if we were putting her out just by being there .which is to bad because we usually like the slack .took a long time for our food and we were the only customers at the time .

We had the spaghetti special. The sauce was very good and fresh. The spaghetti was cooked perfectly. We enjoyed our interaction with the staff and owner. Recommended for you stop in Joseph.

The place is laid out weird, dirty looking, hot. Overstaffed with loud employees and no one else eating there. The crispy chicken salad I ordered was hilarious. One small, thin and dry piece of chicken and a crumbled, burnt piece of bacon... all served on a plastic frisbee or prison plate. YUMMY! Regardless, I am disgusted, sick of mediocre and spending for something more. GROSS.

The waitress was rude and snobby from the moment we walked onto the property. A group of nine, we ended up leaving and going to Enterprise to eat at the Range Rider. Better food, better prices and way better service!!

We had the best time visiting Joseph Oregon and our favorite place to eat was Slack...great food and amazing staff!!! The atmosphere had us feeling like family and we honestly ate there for every meal and tried it all....delicious!!

I had the greatest service from a sweetheart named Lily. She was extremely attentive and had great personality! The food was exceptional. Hats off to the chief.
The $2 beer was great BUT the Special...Spaghetti and meatballs ..was a great disappointment. 3 of us ordered the special. I was the only one who even attempted to eat it after the first few bites. I have never eaten Spaghetti sauce that left my mouth burning. The waitress said the cook said he didn't add anything to make it spicy. At the very least I think that 3 people leaving their plates basically full should have triggered at least a question about the quality of the meal. I did not ask about the cost of the special before hand ..my mistake...but $22 ? That was pretty pricey especially for the meal we received.

If you like junior high cafeteria food, this is the place for you. My entree’s sides were Uncle Ben’s rice, reheated frozen corn, and salad straight out of a bag, complete with lettuce that was pink on the edges, old, dried up slices of cucumbers, and gloppy raspberry vinaigrette. Even the french fries were bad - they taste suspiciously like frozen crinkle cut Oridas, and had a strange aftertaste. The patio is nice though.

This restaurant (Slack) & coffee bar (Tackroom Sip Shop) are one BIG NO for us. We’ve been there three times (2 in the restaurant & 1 at the coffee bar) all three were horrible experiences-wait time, service, and food, . We will NEVER go back and will absolutely tell our friends & family to stay away.
