A place with a great view. Don't go if you need to be waited on quickly.

Most places with a view charge a small fortune and the food is convenience store quality. This place has high prices, but the food is excellent! Considering they're up there around 8000 feet, their presence alone justifies the price, but the food is really satisfying. Come early and get the hiking in at the top before food. It's incredible up there.

Great place for a view of the entire area. The ride up on the Tramway is a fun experience although quite expensive at $50 per person for elderly people. The Summit Grill offers good beers and good food with excellent service, and is the highest restaurant in the PNW (8150 ft above sea level). There are two nice hikes to the very summit of Mt. Howard and to a lookout point offering even more spectacular scenic views of Wallowa Lake, Joseph, Enterprise and beyond, however do beware that this is at altitude (8,261). One is going to need to take it slowly on the hikes or get out of breath or worse, suffer from altitude sickness. One will generally encounter the fattest chipmunks I have ever seen on these hikes, I suppose people cannot resist the desire to feed them :-)

Hard to say mu h the weather was stormy and the ride up the swing I ng gondola ride was frightening. Clam chowder helped warm me up bit. Had to stay there till storm passed... could not see any few. The $47 ride up was way more then it's worth. If it had been sunny u could hike around while up there.

Food was very poorly made, I took two bites and gave it back to the server. Would not stop there again.

A wonderful place to relax and take in the beauty of the Wallowa Mountains ❤️. Take the tramway up — it comes with a day pass, so if you want to ride multiple times, go early!
The Summit Grill is a simple, no-frills spot to grab food items. While the food is straightforward, it’s convenient and satisfying, letting you focus on enjoying the stunning views.
Server was decent but the young gentlemen’s who sat us was rude and snarky. I found a hair in my wrap, gross. And still made us pay for it. Plus no free water, still made rude remarks when we were leaving. I’m not one to complain but wow, they should treat paying customers a little better. Ruined my appetite.
