The chef, bartender, host, and everything front of house Michael was fantastic. His passion and expertise shows through. The behind the scenes crew were spot on. Everything was delicious and well executed. A++If you are visiting the area, this is the place you are looking for. Locals already know, and from what I saw, are very much supporting such a great experience. Looking forward to our next visit!I almost forgot, they make doughnuts and they are amazing

The individual goulash pots, adorable. Desserts, impeccable. Already dreaming about my next trip. Call early to get on the books! Reservations only!

The Vali family has been offering fine dining through multiple generations. Michael and Dee carry on the family tradition that will be sure to be a highlight of your trip or evening. Each evening has a unique dinner, and is reservation only. Be prepared to reserve a week or more in advance. If you do not know the Vali's you will enjoy getting to know their family, and their story.

We went to Vali's for our anniversary after wanting to go for years and it did not disappoint. The owners (who are also the chefs and servers) are absolutely delightful and the food is even better. We went on Sunday which was their Schnitzel night (it is a prix fixe situation) and everything from appetizers to dessert was out of this world delicious. They knew it was our anniversary so they even made the plate beautiful for our dessert! We can't wait to go back next time we're in Wallowa County!

Vali's started offering their famous freshly fried donuts on weekends from a matriarch's old Hungarian recipe decades ago. Even though the restaurant has passed ownership's hands a time or two as the years go by, these amazing creations have never skipped a beat in their uttermost deliciousness. Place a Weekend order a couple days before, so they know how many to make. I KNOW you have never indulged in a proper doughnut like these. They are worlds removed from any grocery store donut or even your probable favorite chain. Get the jelly doughnut- it isn't made from fruit flavored gelatin or cornstarch, it's made from down home, home made Mountain real jam inside. Or try the Boston Crème- with real pudding inside and a heavy chocolate frosting on top. Or try a cinnamon twist, which bends and crackles with sugary cinnamon delight on every bite. But one thing is for sure... just make sure you place an order and get right to it!
