The brisket was delicious and so tender. Where else in Wallowa Country can 2 people go out to eat for 30 bucks and get great food? I told my husband when we go out to eat, it will always be Z’s BBQ. Plus the staff was very friendly.

I will start by saying this is a great local restaurant for the community to have, with an owner/operator who is doing his best and is by all accounts very kind and decent.
Personally however, my experience has been negative. I asked Z's BBQ to cater my wedding and it took many weeks of back-and-forth sporadic communication where we verbally agreed to work together. MONTHS later I reached out to check if everything was on-track, and was told that the date I was asking for got booked over and I will need to now scramble to find someone else to cater the event.
Running a small business is brutal and exhausting and I do not believe the owner intentionally booked over my event; he seems very nice and sincere. However, if you have an important event that you want catered and you are looking at this business, make sure you have your agreement written in stone. Communication and time management are a concern here.

I am a local, and this is my favorite in the entire county. I recommend the brisket. It is second to none, in my opinion. They have some of the friendliest service in the county. It is a great place for a date. The atmosphere fits all the way around. Come you will love it.

The brisket and ribs were tender, succulent and delish ... they didn't even need sauce and the sides were yummy. Service was excellent.
Dietary restrictions: They were extremely helpful about ensuring it was gluten free, absolutely delightful.
